Some Like It Hot (1959)

This is a very special tribute to a very special movie! I am of course referring to Some Like It Hot! Even though it was made in 1958 and was released in 1959, it's classic comedy moments live on forever. Taking the leading role, the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe plays Sugar Kane, the sexy ukelele player. The two handsome leading men are of Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. Tony plays the ladykiller saxophone player Joe and turns into the pouting Josephine - with another special performance as millionaire "Junior", who talks just like Cary Grant. Meanwhile, Jack plays the handsome worrier's worrier bull-fiddle player Jerry and then changes into the homely Daphne! All three main stars certainly sparkle in their roles!

My Interests

One of the all time great screen comedies, Some Like It Hot stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon at their very best. Billy Wilder, one of the all time great directors, co-wrote and directed this fantastic movie.This movie is a gem from start to finish! Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe, and Joe E Brown (Osgood) are great in their parts. Marilyn brings a funny and sexy vulnerability to Sugar and Tony is great with his performance as "Josephine" and the stuffy millionaire who talks just like Cary Grant. But it's Jack Lemmon that really steals the movie here. He invests Daphne with such enthusiasm that we can understand why he's falling for Osgood. He's having way too much fun and it's great to watch him. This is a true classic from start to finish. It's recommended for anyone who likes to laugh!
