About Me

I am a highly complex person who loves simple things; nature, music, art, food, traveling, friends and family. I cling desperately to the idea of balance, but seem to find myself, more often then not, unevenly focused.I am an intellectual, I read books and shit. My education is formal and informal. Formally, you can call me Master Rhodes. But informally my education is rooted in the incessant exposure my parents provided me to their fiery political life, which enlisted me as a solider for social justice at the time of birth. It is this familiar obligation, much like religion, that I adhere to, because it is what I know and it is what I believe. Despite the countless (or maybe pointless) years I spent with armchair intellectuals, my upbringing forces me to constantly re-shift my attention to the practical side of life. So, like any good solider, I work in the trenches and I get my hands dirty.I have worked in the labor movement for the past four years; however my commitment is more general, encompassing economic and social justice. I am dedicated to the work that I do and I am passionate about the cause and the people involved. My work in the labor movement serves a duel purpose, it pays the bills but it also allows me to work towards something that I believe in, which is extremely important to me. In filling my days with something I believe in, I find peace and purpose in life. Fortunately, I don't take myself or anything else for that matter, too serious. I am a laid back, silly girl who likes to have fun. Outside of work, I mostly kick it with the girls. Our favorite hobbies include, bbqs, dancing, drinking, movies and fat breakfasts. I also enjoy dragging my ass to the gym once in a while for a good de-stress session. Running, hiking and yoga are my de-stress tools.IN SHORT: I was born and raised in Fresno, studied in Santa Cruz and New York and now live and die in Oakland. I love my family. I only have cool friends and can't stand close minded people. I believe that another world is possible and I think that everyone should spend each day trying to make it into a place we want to live in. Peace!I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
