About Me

.. -
I have been painting and drawing for as long back as I can remember. My work mostly consists of acrylics on canvas, as I love the diverse effects and styles you can create with this material, but I have been known to dabble in sculpture and various other mediums.
I studied Fine Art and Textile Art at Winchester College of Art and Design in 1999 and I went on to do a BA in Drama, Theatre and Television Studies. This has lead to jobs in TV and theatre; schools, youth and art centres. My real passion though, continues to be painting.
I adore many eras and forms of art, but I would say my main influences come from Surrealism and Pop art. Artists like Rene Magritte, Roberto Matta, Claes Oldenburg, David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein; inspire me no matter how many times I visit their art or look through a book on them ... although I’m also a big fan of street art, logos and Manga. With inspirations drawing from ‘Flower guy’, ‘Pixel Phil’ ‘Banksy’ and Sweat drop animations, to name a few.
I’ve had a few exhibitions over the last few years in London, Winchester and now Newbury but currently I find great enjoyment out of creating one offs for commissions. I will undertake all kinds of commission work from paper/canvas pieces -no size too big- I love a challenge, to murals and sculptures. I pride myself in being able to deliver the perfect piece or series of artwork to your exact requirements and expectations.
Please see under my profile picture for more examples of my work and my current pictures for sale in my 'artwork' album.
For more information on commission work please feel free to contact me here on myspace or on: [email protected]

Janet
