About Me

I am a divorced mother of two teenage daughters, a full-time meatcutter and a freelance writer. I live in Pennsylvania, with my daughters, parents, Miss Daisy (our Welsh Corgi) and Augie (my cockatiel). I'm part Native American, part Irish, part Scottish and part German, but all Pennsylvania Dutch. My oldest daughter is a survivor of sexual abuse and I of domestic abuse. One of the things that's puzzled me about myself is that I have been close to dying quite a few times in my life, including some mishaps in my childhood and I am still alive; I cannot dismiss the idea that maybe I have a purpose. One message I would like to convey to people is that we can all be survivors, no matter what. The cause of children, whatever their circumstances, is particularly important to me.
I have published a few articles in the online zine "First Church of the Streets", where I am also moderator of the poetry message board. I've had some poetry published, as well. Most of my writing is related in some way to my own life, either directly or in my observations of others. I have written more poetry, than anything else and I tend to favor rhymed poetry. In fact, I sometimes get myself to the point, where I actually think in rhyme. Mostly, I like to write things that will make people think. In August, of this year, I launched my own zine "The Scribbler Ink". My goal is to write a full-length mystery, though my fiction still needs some work.
