About Me

I am a Raj. But I am not THE Raj . Though I fulfill some of the same functions, I've never been to Iowa.

All you need to know is that there are two things that are important to me: movies and baseball. Occasionally people are important to me, but very rarely. I believe social interaction is the most cumbersome part of being human. I believe in living alone, working alone and drinking alone. I believe in Mojitos, Rum Runners and Long Island Iced Teas. I believe in alcoholism. I believe alcoholism enhances creativity.

I think movie studios should put more effort into creativity than into marketing. I think moviegoers should learn to recognize good movies to begin with. I think studios should re-release movies instead of remaking them.

I don’t believe in happy endings. But I believe in “happy endings”.

I think MTV should go back to showing music videos. I think sitcoms should go back to being funny. I think ESPN should go back to covering sports.

I believe in the sacrifice fly, the hit-and-run and bunting for a base hit. I believe a 3-run lead in the 9th inning should not be considered a save situation. I believe a hitter’s batting average should be doubly affected when he grounds into a double play.

I believe that Red Sox fans are among the worst people in the history of civilization.

I think Tom Cruise gets a bad rap. I think Brad Pitt chose wisely. I think Emilio Estevez should get more work.

I believe that Los Angeles is the only city in the world that can be wiped off the face of the Earth without anyone caring.

I believe in mutually assured destruction and also in mutual masturbation.

I believe people who are against abortion should just try to not have abortions.

I believe that children are raised by villages and I believe that some of them should be left behind. I believe that parents should be held accountable for their inability to parent.

I think Christians try too hard. I think Catholics don’t try hard enough. And I think Buddhists try just right.

I believe in "No taxation without representation". I believe in racial profiling. I believe that people should have to pass a driver's test every ten years in order to keep their license.

I believe in converting to the metric system. I believe that all anti-Americanism around the world is somehow rooted in our unwillingness to do so.

I believe that all anyone really needs to be happy is a surprise balloon bouquet every now and again.

And I believe that if a 14 year old boy can be tried as an adult then a 14 year old girl should be allowed to pose nude.

The Metaphor of the Still Pond (It’s About Heroes)

Four episodes in and I think I'm starting to get "Heroes" figured out. Let's see if I get this straight: These people... have superpowers. Am I right? Okay, so maybe I'm still in the dark a little bit...
