35 live shows, 4 radio appearances, 3 internet broadcasts, over 5,000 MySpace fans, and 1 EP release may sound like the average life span of an underground band, but that would only cover the first year for Lead Pipe Logic. When the band started in a Simi Valley garage in mid 2007 the chemistry was immediate, but it was not until they began to write together that they knew that this was not “just another band.†With songs that speak of pain and joy, self-destruction and healing, depression and rage, Lead Pipe Logic has become therapy for, not only its members, but its listeners as well. In an industry saturated with bands in search of the next gimmick to grab people's attention, Lead Pipe Logic adheres to a simple formula; Write good songs that people want to hear and perform them well.
"The thing that sets us apart from other bands is the emotional connection we have with the listener. I think they are tired of being underestimated. They are in search of something authentic and they have found that in our music." Says Vocalist Chris Baker. With the release of their debut single, "I'll Withstand" in August 2007 and their 5-song EP in September, the band's popularity has begun to climb. In an interview and performance on Forbidden Radio, host Christine Dolce said this of the band, "I did not want the songs to end. It was amazing. I'm speechless. They are very special." After being featured on Forbidden Radio, Lead Pipe Logic was approached by NowLive.Com with an offer to broadcast the first live concert in their history. "Lead Pipe Logic Live at 14 Below" aired in November of 2007, and was followed up with another in December.
Lead Pipe Logic is a band that is driven to be the best. What started at a backyard party has lead to shows at some of the largest clubs in Hollywood and even Six Flags theme parks. They have worked with not only local, but national promoters and are poised to hit the stage with the biggest national rock acts that come through the Los Angeles area. The band is slated to release their next recorded effort in the fall of 2008 and follow it up with a rigorous show schedule. With the caliber of music Lead Pipe Logic writes and all they have accomplished in just one year, this is a band with a very bright future ahead of them.
