About Me

I've become a bit of a workaholic over the years, which, if you knew me in high school that probably doesn't seem possible, but yes, I work too much. It's my life. Well that and my daughter :-D I got lucky with how cute she turned out.

I play saxophone in the United States Army Band by job description but I'm also the Senior Operations Sergeant and Drum Major, you know, the guy that marches with the "big stick" in front of the band ;-) The more rank I get the less it seems I get to play my axe although I'm trying to play more again. I lived in Germany for the first 5 years of my Army career, moved to Georgia (Ft. Benning) and loved it so much I moved right back to Germany. After 6 non-consecutive years of living in Europe though, the Army decided to bring it to an end. It only took the Army having to move the whole Division to get me out. So here I am, continuing to serve in the 1st Infantry Division just not in Europe but in Ft. Riley, Kansas. It isn't as bad as I once thought. I just love this Division too much :-) DUTY FIRST!

My Interests

Music of course.

Also the "regulars" such as movies and what not.

I don't drink or party like I did back in the "good ol' days", but if I go out I enjoy a good cold beer or twelve. It's tough getting old...

I'd like to meet:

Anyone I may have known from back in the day, who I know now, or would like to know me.

I can also be IM'd on AIM, Yahoo and MSN with armysaxplayer (just add the @yahoo.com and @hotmail.com for Yahoo and MSN)

Music:

I like everything. And I mean everything. If I had to pick favorites I'd have to at least do it categorized but these aren't even necessarily my ABSOLUTE favorites because it all depends on my mood, the day, the time, where I am, etc., you get the idea:

Rock = So many, but some that have been "time-tested" are Smashing Pumpkins, Muse & Everclear

Goth = The Cure

Alternative = Pearl Jam & Dave Matthews

Jazz = John Coltrane and all saxophonists must pay homage to Bird for through him, all things with saxophones are possible

Rap = Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Missy

R&B = Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige & those particular Maroon 5 tunes...

Movies:

The Others

Glory

Blackhawk Down

Girl Next Door

Television:

Family Guy

Space Ghost Coast to Coast

Benny Hill

Books:

General's Daughter, Plum Island, Lion at the Gates or just about anything else from Nelson DeMille

Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons

Heroes:

Veterans...

...they've done and continue to do the best they can...
