About Me

Most of my friends know me as Chuck. As I was growing up in the infamous place called the "Valley," I have always been very attached to creativity and the world that holds it. I have learned to branch out in different creative forms that I wasn't so used to before such as photography (something I thought would be extremely boring). Despite my lack of interest, I tried it out for the heck of it and surprisingly enough I enjoyed everything about it. So it's a hobby now that I enjoy. I don't actually own or have ever purchased a digital camera but I use an old school manual and film is way more awesome. It's just too bad I can't afford the dark room, processing film, and film paper. The old school is a luxury these days with the digital world growing. I will probably have to surrender to technology soon enough and learn to like the digital world. I guess the only way is just by opening up my limitations and accepting what is. But I have learned in the past that I can enjoy anything with the right attitude.
I have three dreams in life that I want to talk about. First I would like to finish school under the transportation design major and work in a car studio. I probably have gone to school longer than you have lived and failed so many times that I never got to finish what I wanted. I know that just because I failed doesn't mean I am a failure. There is no race in life but I still would like to finish and challenge myself among creative people. In the field, I would like to not only enhance the aesthetics of products but to take ideas to the next level by using information technology and imagination together. What gives me an edge is that I love research to begin with. You can find me curiously reading about why yawning is contagious (there are no proven facts today) or how to get rid of writer's or artist's block (you can either keep doing continuing to work or let your mind free of thoughts to restart your creative process). My second dream would be to work with my best friend (my cousin) on a project that involves fashion which is actually happening right now. Our starting company is called Museum. Ever since we were young, we always wanted to work on something together and after all these years here we are doing it. He called me up one day two years ago telling me about his crazy idea and how he wanted me to partner up with him to fill in the creative elements of the business. When this thing starts getting more attention, I will talk about it more. But for now let's just keep it a little secret. My third dream would be to design a building or an environment that engulfs possibly entertainment, functionality, and convenience. This place would also adopt the idea of creating more energy than using it, like the Pearl River Tower designed by SOM, a great architectural firm. I would like to create many different types of futuristic environments that also involve the natural world and crowds of people that gives the energy to these places.
I guess I have my head in the right place. I don't want to focus too much into the future and then lose all the fun I could be having right now. I realized that I can enjoy every moment no matter how dull my life situation gets and to also know that everything is a blessing not just when I find 20 bucks in my back pocket. The very air I breath, the shelter I have, the great loving family I have with a great mother who has shown me the way, the great friends I have and even the people I've met throughout my life, my older brother who is the greatest leader I have ever met and my little sister who has the greatest life energy and positivity I have ever known. I have many things to appreciate. Don't you?

Do you know the story of Banzan? Before he became a great Zen master, he spent many years in the pursuit of enlightenment, but it eluded him. Then one day, as he was walking in the marketplace, he overheard a conversation between a butcher and his customer. "Give me the best piece of meat you have," said the customer. And the butcher replied, "Every piece of meat I have is the best. There is no piece of meat here that is not the best." Upon hearing this, Banzan became enlightened. You see, when you accept what IS, every piece of meat -- every moment -- is the best. That is enlightenment.View All Friends | View Blog | Add Comment
