Band Members: EXPERIMENTAL:ULTRONseries - concerts and performances which we, HANS-KRISTIAN-KJOS SØRENSEN and GRO arranged on the jazzclub BLÅ in Oslo. The artistic idea is to COMMUNICATE with people, to escape the conservative itinstitutionalizing of performing, to grab what is going on today and find an artistic way to communicate what we hear and see. We want to give artists the possibility to communicate in a different setting with a different public.
Contemporary artists, musicians, writers, visual artists, dancers...ULTRONduo: HANS-KRISTIAN-KJOS SØRENSEN, perc, meodic, sampler - GRO, viola, voice, text, sampler. We are working in a landscape of the time we live in, the pulses we adapt to, where the music is our language and our expression of the reality we live in.
We play contemporary music, we make music ourselves, we improvise.CEREBRAL CORTEX - JAN SKOMAKERSTUEN, dj, vinyl - HANS-KRISTIAN-KJOS SØRENSEN, perc, sampler, voice - GRO, viola, voice, texts, sampler. Jan being an exellent installation-artist, contribute with his greate talent for sound, ability to visualize music, and understanding of the textures. Our artistic idea: the thoughts manifestations through language and music.
Influences: FAVOURITE MUSICIANS:HANS-KRISTIAN KJOS SØRENSEN - that´s chemistry, musicmaking, organized creative, knowledge, sensitivity, and art 24 hours a day. He makes percussion art.THE SWEDISH CHAMBERORCHESTRA - a fantastic gang of musicians! Hard working, serious, playful, the concerts where all of us just went for it. And fantastic human beings. Wonderful years of my life. Love You!!!TANJA TETZLAFF - playing with her is intense, inspiering, filled my head with so many ideas that I hardly could sleep. Her playing the cello: what a sound!FLORIAN DUNDERER - exellent violinist, sincere, deep thinking, so deep that we had to drag him back to life some times. When he plays his violin the birds sings with him.DANIEL HOPE - a star on his violin, devoted to art, his mind works day and night for his projects. The look in his eyes, and the sounds from his instrument when we made music, was worth it all.JEAN-PIERRE DROUET and GEORGE APERGHIS - opened my mind to music-theater. They open-heartedly shared their experiences as musicians and composers and artists. I loved the performances, though I felt like bambi on ice. Working with them was a major change in my life as a viola-player - scary to leave the set world of the "classical music". And so important to understand what music and art is about - life.SAVINA YANNATOU - wonderful singer and human being, she above all has the gift to talk with each one of us when she sings.JAVID AFSARI RAD - brought me into the world of persian music. Always patient and loving, he masters his santor with impressive skill. And when he sings, we all cry.KURT LEWIN - we made so many concerts together, he as a conductor, I as soloist on the viola. What a mythical relationship, weeks at end with teaching of viola playing, score reading, music listening, endless discussions, all the knowledge, all the musicians, composers, artists he had met, played with, talked to. Rarely have I met someone with such a need for sharing wisdom and knowledge.NOBUKO IMAI - my viola-teacher for almost three years. Sincere, deep, human, she showed me many ways into musicmaking. We could work hours at ends, taping lessons on video, out for a meal, and back to watch and listen to the days work.
