The list is too long to even begin. After browsing my music...I have had some very influential musicians enter my life over the years. Some of my absolutes:1. Led Zeppelin...the first group I ever knew their first and last names. The first Zeppelin song I heard, Kashmire. Fav all time Zeppelin song, Tangerine.2. Pink Floyd...just mezmorized me in high school. I now have all of their albums including Echoes. Fav song,Wish You Were Here.3. Yes..also found in high school. Fav song Heart of the Sunrise, on Fragile.4. Richie Havens...did some very cool stuff and I was fortunate enough to see him perform live once.5. Bagpipes...when I was little a man came to my church and played Amazing Grace on the Bagpipes. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior that day and later found out that it was Dr. Ora Wells playing the pipes. The sound of the bagpipes always fills my soul.6. Brahms...in college I sang with the UNCA chorus and was allowed to perform the German Requiem with a multitude of other choirs. That experience will never leave me.7. Karl Denson...I met a lot of people working at Mission, and one in particular turned me onto Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. It's just phenomenal.8. Chic singers that I love: Billie Holiday, Nora Jones (the early stuff), Alison Kraus, Dixie Chics (I know I'm not supposed to like them anymore, but whatever), Dolly Parton, Jodie Brown Indian Family, Jewel (the really early stuff), Enya, Charlotte Church, The Judds, etc.9. Classical...I love it, most all of it. Favorites are Mozart, Bach (especially Air on the G String), Beethoven, Vivaldi, etc. My most favorite piece..Pachabel's Cannon in D. Love it, always have and always will.10. Locals...in high school..favorite was Dorian Grey, now some of those guys are in other bands which I have had the extreme pleasure of seeing live multiple times. I am so proud of all of them...Ethos, Steep Canyon Rangers and Fifth House. It's always fun to go to a show and run into old friends and hear some excellent performances!I love to sing..and since I have had formal training, it's even more fun. I play the trumpet (still) and am trying my hand at the piano. If anyone has a good idea of how to self teach that instrument...let me know!! I have a very good Yahmaha keyboard with USB ports and all..it's been a lot of fun trying, but I have a long way to go.
Secret Garden, Patch Adams, Under the Tuscan Sun etc.
GREY'S ANATOMY!!!!!!!!!!! Brothers and Sisters The Amazing Race (because it reminds me of our honeymoon to the British Virgin Islands!) Men in Trees (because it's shot in Vancover...supposed to be Alaska..close enough for me!)
I have read my whole life. Mostly it was for school, but I was one of the few that actually enjoyed it. I am a card carrying member to every library chain in WNC. I love to read about places...right now Alaska. I love history about this area, and on cold winter nights I like to snuggle up with a good Nora Roberts or John Grisham. I have not allowed myself to get into any serious stuff since I left college...but I'm sure I'll get around to it one of these days. Since I have a three year old, Goodnight Moon is always on the table, along with some Curious George books (Mr. Huff gave them to me in high school and I saved them), I haven't started Hope for the Flowers for her yet, but it won't be long. She loves her illustrated Bible, God's Promise is her favorite right now.
My mom...the older I get the more I realize what an incredible woman she is. I try to be more like her every day.
