About Me

The Tampa Democratics for Progress group is focused on bringing area Democrats together to meet and explore opportunities to collaborate. We want to help connect, as author Stephen Covey puts it, the individual's passion, talents, and conscience to community needs. While we will hold Meetups throughout the area, most of our networking and collaboration will take place online.There are many opportunities for Democrats to come together and be a part of the solution to the challenges facing our community. We are not here to tell you what to act on, but, we are here to encourage individuals and groups to act. Our function will be to help you network with others who share your interests in the hope that by cooperating you will be more effective. We know most of you lead busy lives and have trouble meeting, so we will also provide you free tools to help you get work done online from the comfort of your home and at a time of your convenience.While our Meetups will take care of group decisions that are best handled in person, they will principally focus on the essential human need for a personal connection with those who share their values. It was those bonds of community between neighbors that made it possible for ordinary farmers to walk out of a tavern and start a revolution in April of 1775 on Lexington Green. Our Meetups will be about nurturing those kinds of bonds between neighbors.The fact that you are reading this makes you a very special person. The future of our community rests in your hands, because if a person like you will not act, then we are lost. We know people like you are very busy, so to facilitate communication and cooperation irrespective of schedules and geography will will employ online collaboration tools to help us get work done online.
