This website was created at 90,478 miles, on Feburary 23, 2004. My goal is to break 100 thousand miles. I started my treck Feburary 27, 1997 in Northeast Ohio in minus 10 degrees weather and nine inches of snow. I had found out around early Feburary that I had colon cancer and I had several roblems with the system on getting the proper kind of help. I felt depressed, angry, had no where to go and just felt like riding. My story has reached people all over the U.S. via news on the television and newspapers where I've visited. I've have met the good, the bad, and the ugly and the hipocrit of people. I've turned this into a journey, MY journey. I've gone through seven bicycles, and two trailers so far in the course of my journey. I have a cb radio, 74 led lights on my trailer, a windsheild, and even a roof for rainy days. I carry a 38lb. battery in my tailer, called the Optima Battery. I've given jump-starts and push starts for others. A lot of people never believe that I talk on a cb radio while riding a bike across America. I stop at Truckstops to polish wheels and tanks on Semi-trucks to pay for my journey, though I do tend to run into the occasional unfriendly stops forcing me to move on to another location. I've been out here and dehidrated myself from the unkindness found in some people. I've had minor accidents along my journey, and few major ones. I've even been carried to Walmart in the next town in an ambulance from pure kindness. My ultimate goal is to make it all the way to Alaska and back. Currently searching for a Tandem bicycle if anyone is looking to get rid of one. More stories to come! It has been a long journey and I have come into some hard times financing my trip. I have been blessed with help from some really wonderful people before this website as come to be. Some have helped me by giving me food, money, and other things I have needed and they had to give. It has been a real blessing being able to witness people giving to others and looking our for each other. And those others that wish they could set out on their own journeys but cant.
