About Me

SECTION 16 is a melodic five piece guitar oriented metal band based out of Colorado.
History : SECTION 16 was formed in 1999 out of the ashes of the Power/Progressive Metal band PSYCO DRAMA by vocalist Corey Brown, bassist Ian
Ringler, and guitarist Toby Kinnaman. The band was completed with the addition of drummer Jeremy Hoffman of metal act Jaded Soul.
CD Information : In 2002, Section 16 released their debut CD "Identity Crisis," which offers 14 tracks of melodic, aggressive heavy progressive music
highlighted by the songs "Live Through Me" (used on Fox TV’s Power Rangers Ninja Storm), "Monkey Patch" (Top 10 MP3.com Alternative Metal – 2001)
and "Alone" (Top 10 MP3.com Progressive Metal – 2001). Identity Crisis is currently sold at various online retail stores including TowerRecords.com and
Amazon.com.
Promotional Information : Section 16 has gained regional and national attention through both Internet and On-Air Radio play in addition to national
publications such as Metal Edge, Metal Maniacs, and Guitar World. The band has also reached listeners outside of the US in countries such as
Germany, Sweden, Italy, England, France, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and Japan also through international magazines and Radio play.
For the release of Section 16's CD "Identity Crisis", the band landed distribution deals with Eric Cerda at DCA Recordings and later with Century Media's
Distribution Program.
In late 2004, Section 16 began working their second CD with Producer/Engineer BILL DOUGLASS. Recently re-located to the Colorado area, Bill
Douglass has a long track history within the music industry working with as a producer, engineer, and mixing such artists as Stabbing Westward,
Static-X, The Smashing Pumpkins, and R. Kelly.
Additional Information : Both Section 16 vocalist Corey Brown and bassist Ian Ringler can also be heard with the group MAGNITUDE 9 on the InsideOut
Music Label among such artists as Symphony X, Evergrey, and James LaBrie of Dream Theater.
In 2003, singer Corey Brown also filled in for vocal duties for the band REDEMPTION for their live performance at the ProgPower IV festival in Atlanta.
This live performance also included Corey singing a duet with FATES WARNING's Ray Alder.
Singer Corey Brown has also joined forces with the UK based Power/Progressive band BALANCE OF POWER.
