SECTION 16 is a melodic five piece guitar
oriented metal band based out of Colorado.
History :
SECTION 16 was formed in 1999 out of the ashes of the Power/Progressive Metal
band PSYCO DRAMA by vocalist Corey Brown, bassist Ian
Ringler, and guitarist Toby Kinnaman. The band was completed with the addition
of drummer Jeremy Hoffman of metal act Jaded Soul.

In 2002, Section 16 released their debut CD "Identity Crisis," which offers 14
tracks of melodic, aggressive heavy progressive music
highlighted by the songs "Live Through Me" (used on Fox TV’s Power Rangers Ninja
Storm), "Monkey Patch" (Top 10 MP3.com Alternative Metal – 2001)
and "Alone" (Top 10 MP3.com Progressive Metal – 2001). Identity Crisis is
currently sold at various online retail stores including TowerRecords.com and
Amazon.com.

Section 16 has gained regional and national attention through both Internet and
On-Air Radio play in addition to national
publications such as Metal Edge, Metal Maniacs, and Guitar World. The band has
also reached listeners outside of the US in countries such as
Germany, Sweden, Italy, England, France, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and Japan
also through international magazines and Radio play.
For the release of Section 16's CD "Identity Crisis", the band landed
distribution deals with Eric Cerda at DCA Recordings and later with Century
Media's
Distribution Program.
In late 2004, Section 16 began working their second CD with Producer/Engineer
BILL DOUGLASS. Recently re-located to the Colorado area, Bill
Douglass has a long track history within the music industry working with as a
producer, engineer, and mixing such artists as Stabbing Westward,
Static-X, The Smashing Pumpkins, and R. Kelly.

Both Section 16 vocalist Corey Brown and bassist Ian Ringler can also be heard
with the group MAGNITUDE 9 on the InsideOut
Music Label among such artists as Symphony X, Evergrey, and James LaBrie of
Dream Theater.
In 2003, singer Corey Brown also filled in for vocal duties for the band
REDEMPTION for their live performance at the ProgPower IV festival in Atlanta.
This live performance also included Corey singing a duet with FATES WARNING's
Ray Alder.
Singer Corey Brown has also joined forces with the UK based Power/Progressive band BALANCE OF POWER.
