About the Perfumer:
Di Rajchel has been fascinated with plants ever since she was allowed to spend hours digging in her grandfather's garden as a child. Now she has 20 + years experience and study with plants and a relationship with them that would be the photosynthesis-version of bordering on crazy cat lady. She began perfuming back in 1999 when she was struggling to find ways to use up a bunch of essential oils she'd been given; as it turned out, she was good at it and wound up going into business under the occult label Medea's Chariot. Sadly, she had to cede this old label and has begun life and business anew as Magickal Realism; this is much more indicative of her place in life now. Magickal Realism refers in part to the literary genre wherein characters respond to supernatural events as part of ordinary life; Di sees life itself as pretty darned extraordinary, and the fact that smell can alter your entire outlook as just plain magic.
Di is also a spiritual writer and critic who has published in Llewellyn annuals since 2000, and who writes reviews for New Witch, the Beltane Papers, and Facing North.
Di is an active member of the Etsy Green and Clean Guild, a guild of Etsy bath and body makers who promote truth-in-labeling practices and seek to create environmentally sustainable businesses. She is also part of the Etsy Trashion team, which takes materials normally discarded and converts them to art, Etsy Minnesota, and the Minneapolis Craft Mafia.
You can often find Di doing shows with Brenda of Dancing Jems , when she has not somehow put herself in a position to herd cats.
