About Me

The background is a picture I took in the Bahamas, it is not Key West. I do not live in Key West, I visit as often as I can. My first visit was in October of 2002. Been there 4 times. Three in October, once in February. Most recent, Oct 2006. Have stayed on Duval at La Concha and the Southern Cross (never again). Have also stayed at the Hyatt on Front Street and at the Westin (my favorite, first class all the way). Love to visit Irish Kevin's, in fact I like the place so much I have put together a little Irish Kevin's fan web site with pictures and videos, and more. One is of N.Y. Pauly and Irish Mike, about 10 minutes long. Check it out ONLY if you are over 18 (21 in some states, you know who you are). Please Check Out My Irish Kevin's Fan Site When in town, what a hoot, not to be missed. I am in the mortgage business in Maryland, have been for more than 21 years. UPDATE: After 14 years of owning my own mortgage company shop, I have decided to call it quits and close it's doors. I hate it when that happens. I also play guitar, been doing that for 35 years or so. Used to do the band thing around town in my misspent youth. I have some friends I play music with once in a while. Sometimes even in public! When that happens we morph into... drum roll please... "Unplugged & Over Served" . We are far from Unplugged though, (I love my Marshall)... as far as Over Served, well, you can be the judge, you can't say I didn't warn you. Thanks for stopping by my space.

My Interests

Playing music (guitar). Gardening. Playing music. Hanging out with friends at happy hour at the greatest dock bar in Maryland, the Shanty. UPDATE 3/2007: The Shanty has sold, new name is The Big Owl (for a dock bar?), It has great Tiki type decorations, but...the magic is gone, another end of an era, shit, I hate it when that happens. Where was I? Hanging out at Half Shell Raw Bar or Schooners Wharf in Key West is one of my favorite things to do. Love to visit Please Check Out My Irish Kevin's Fan Site and to do the Duval Crawl once in a while. Oh yea, listening to good music, playing music, I guess I like playing music. Yes that's what I like, pretty sure. Yup. Uh Huh. And of course the stunningly (is that a word?) beautiful Keys, Paradise Found. As my great friend Chris Franklin (R.I.P.) told me (warned me?) when I mentioned I was taking my first visit to Key West "It's more like visiting a foreign country". He was right. Key Weird, whatever name it happens to be that year, still a treasure.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

This is a work in progress.... Older/ Classic Rock: Beach Boys, Beatles, Black Sabbath, Judas Preist, Van Halen, Bad Company, UFO, Saxon, Rush, Mahogany Rush, Cream, Hendrix, Styx, Boston, Zepplin, ... Newer Rock: Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Yellow Card, Eve 6, Turbonegro, Dream Theatre... Southern Rock: Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, some Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Henry Paul Band, Stillwater... Progressive Rock/ Jazz: Focus (Jan Ackerman), Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, Petruci, Jeff Beck, Al Dimeola, etc. Classical: Segovia, Torres, Sor, Howe, Blues: Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Roy Bucannan, Link Wray, B.B., Bernard Allison,

Movies:

Sleepless in Seatle is one of my favorites. Like the story line, plys Meg Ryan is such a babe in that, beautiful. Romantic movies, and romantic comedies. Message in a Bottle touched something deep inside me. Have a really off the wall sense of humor. I am a big Three Stooges fan, Mel Brooks movies are awesome("excuse me while I whip this out..."), Spinal Tap, Looney Tunes cartoons, that kind of crazy humor.

Television:

Not much on TV. Ghost Hunters is a cool show. Most Extreme Challange is very funny. National Geographic, Animal, Weather, Discovery, Science, History, VH1 Classic, CSI, Two and a Half Men. Whatever looks interesting.

Books:

Clapton (his autobiography reading now)Don't Stop The Carnival. The Florida Keys-A History And Guide, I recommend that book very highly. The Prophet. The Little Prince. Off the wall sort of stuff most of the time. Yes I guess I may be a shallow person.

Heroes:

still thinking about this one. For starters, Henry Flagler co founder of Standard Oil, he built a railroad to Florida and extended it to Key West; Teddy Roosevelt, he did so much for this country. JFK, had the balls to question the corrupt Federal Reserve Bank' cost him his life. Leo Fender, Les Paul, Jim Marshall, Paul Reed Smith, Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Buddy Guy, more to be added later.
