And as memory serves, I'm addicted to words....

About Me

Well...I'm somewhat uncomfortable talking about myself...I guess I could pull a Dostoyevsky and get all self analytical, but I'd rather not because "Notes from the Underground" kind of freaked me out. I love the Lord. I'm a creative writing major (and recently declared, and highly skeptical communications minor) at the lovely sunny campus of USC. I love college, but totally am a nerd that misses my parents and friends and boyfriend Justin. I love the arts: movie, literature, music, etc., and love to laugh and talk and travel. I also think it's important to say that Peter Pan is an underrated creative work, East of Eden and A Prayer for Owen Meany are great novels of the 20th century (trumping the over-hyped Great Gatsby, about which I must ask, why am I supposed to love a novel whose main character I detest?), the Beatles truly are the best band ever and that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind should have won best picture. I am also considering that writing about myself here is kind of aimless, as I signed up only because my friends already on MySpace convinced me to do so. So really, I'm wasting my time with this lengthy description of someone that my friends already know. Okay, good night then (and good luck? to quote another underrated movie).

Oh, and check out my blog: A Word or Two , and the my weekly blog: AngeBlogo .

STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING
"Whose woods these are I think I know
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost
"No man is an island, entire of itself...
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind;
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
it tolls for thee." ~John Donne, Meditation XVII

Heroes:

I don't care much for picking sappy heroes that I intend to model my life after, because honestly, when I think heroes, I think Beatrix Kiddo (a.k.a. uma) in Kill Bill because she kicks ass, but still is an awesome mom who retains her sense of humor. I also appreciate Indiana Jones, because he shares my fear of snakes and is WAY COOLER than sucky James Bond. The third hero that comes to my mind is Seth Cohen on The OC for his awesome wit and incredibly vulnerable and hilarious inability to process his words before they leave his mouth, though his wit cannot be compared to the sarcastic genius found in The Gilmore Girls. Forget it's the WB and listen to the dialogue!!!!

Maybe picking entertainment figures as my heroes is shallow, but its honest and hey, I had good reasons supporting my choices, so deal with it.
