ITW is currently in the process of writing and recording a new album due to be released in early '07. Stay tuned for new music and show dates in the new year.
Identity and influential sound are the roots of Inventing The Wheel's unique yet standard setting sound in the new world of punk and hardcore. ITW was formed in '02 by members from the Calgary punk community, Jorie Spate (vocals), Gavin Spate (guitar/vocals), Corey Tapp (guitar/vocals), Matt Carson (bass/vocals), and Phil Schumacher (drums/vocals). From the start, ITW had humble beginnings collaborating ideas and diverse musical influences to create a new and impacting sound. With help from BMG Canada, ITW released their first independent album, "First Turn" which was recorded at Echo Base Studio in Calgary, Alberta with Casey Lewis. ITW has done successful several tours around Canada and acquired a solid fan base with larger plans to tour more extensively. Hard work and love for the music allows ITW to combine a melodic blend of harmonies with speed punk and hardcore to produce sound and energy which is reminiscent of seasoned arena punk veterans...
