About Me

My name is Matt. I go to school at the University of Utah. I love to learn, but the classes I take are pretty boring, at least most of them are. I enjoy music, playing the piano is something that I have loved ever since I started doing it. Now that I have more free time on my hands, I've been getting back into my old practicing habits. I love to play sports, physical activity is one of my favorite things in life. If I could, I would be doing those two things all day long, plus some reading in there when I got tired. I'm a pretty determined person, when it comes to things I set out to do, I usually get them done. I have a real competitive nature to me. I oftentimes feel the drive to be the best at things. I used to be a lot worse about it, but I've kinda relaxed of the past few years. I find myspace addicting. It is amazing to me to see what some people will put in their pages. Things they'll write as comments to their friends. Its actually kinda scary to think that there could be predators lurking out there, studying everything about you and prying into your life. I guess for me, I don't feel like I have any dark secrets to hide, nothing revealing that I wish some people wouldn't know about me. If its happened, then why shouldn't people know. Some things I feel should be only kept between friends, but I don't think that I've done anything that nobody should know about. That being said, I feel it my prerogative to disclose information about myself at my discretion, but if someone finds out something, I won't deny it. All in all, I am satisfied with who I am and where I am in life. I wish I had a little more direction, but I think it will be an adventure to see where I end up. That was a real pageful, so if you read this the whole way through, congrats.

My Interests

I love music, sports, beautiful women, learning, hanging out, camping, and other fun things. Something that I've gotten into recently is guitar hero 2. It makes me feel like I can actually play the guitar, but then I think of course its a lot more complicated, but still its fun. I passed all of the songs on expert recently, that was a task, but even more so now will be to get 5 stars on all the songs.

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking to open up and meet new people. If I could meet anyone in the world, past, present, or future, it would be my future wife, (that is if I ever end up finding a girl who can put up with me). I would like to meet her, but have no idea it was her, kinda weird, but I think it would be cool. Who knows though, I may already know her, thats kinda freaky to think about. I would love to meet Christ during his mortal ministry, Joseph Smith during the Nauvoo era, and other great minds and religious men/women.

Music:

Classical, Jazz, Radiohead, Collective Soul, Soul Coffing, Death Cab, Postal Service, Killers, Modest Mouse, Rage Against the Machine, 311, Ben Folds Five, Bjork, recently discovered Flaming Lips, Maroon 5, etc. etc.

Movies:

Matrix 1 2 3, all star wars, Lord of the Rings, comedies, Stranger than Fiction, a great new flick, mostly movies that make you think and that make even me, the stonehearted man that I am, feel moved.

Television:

I hate TV, especially the disney channel and professional football, but baseball games and golf on tv are the biggest joke, I think

Books:

Classics, Dibs in Search of Self, The harry potters, though i'll only read them once, fantasy books, scifi, again, things that make you think, or be otherwise entertained.

Heroes:

My brother Than who has been a real support to me and has taught me a ton over the past year, my bros Rees, Mikey, Weaver, Adam, and the rest of the off and on crew. My Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ, Jeffery R. Holland (my favorite apostle). Also great thinkers and examples of virtuous behavior, like ghandi, Albert Einstein and others.
