About Me

My background is that I am Swedish but I was born in Bombay, India. I was found on the street and put in an orphanage. When I was about 3 years old I was adopted into a Swedish family and I grew up in a town called Oxelosund, one hour from Stockholm. It was really tough in the beginning to acclimatize to the Swedish climate, country, culture, language etc.I always realised that I looked different, but my turning point in life was when we had dance in the school. At the end of term we had competitions, which I won, and as a prize I got onto a free summer dance course. Music gave me strengh somehow and for the first time in my life I felt equal with everyone, and accepted. I didn't matter what you looked like or what colour you were.Later I competed in Ballroom Dancing and I was twice Swedish Champion (1990-91) in Latin American Dance and represented Sweden in different championships world wide. I quit Ballroom later and I was instead accepted for the Musical Theatre programme at Royal Ballet Academy in Gothenburg. After my graduation I did several productions in Sweden.By a coincidence I saw on the web that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was searching for Asian people for his new West End musical Bombay Dreams. I felt strongly about this project and I sent my details to David Grindrod, and after one week I had my first audition in London. Later they recalled me four times and finally I won a part in his show.I did the show 2002-04 and it was my first step in exploring my roots. I was eating Indian food, saw a Bollywood film , how a slum looked like, how a wedding was etc. Everything was for the first time. To be part of this show was really a great journey both as an actor and personally. After I did the run, I realised how competitive the West End is. I just felt I have to be better, so I decided to apply for the postgraduate Musical Theatre Course at R.A.M and luckily I was accepted. I enjoyed every minute of it. This year gave me so much and I could take what I needed to learn. After my graduation I sang for the Swedish royalty, was one of the artist in the famous Swedish TV-programme of all time 'Så ska det låta' (based on the Irish programme Lyrics Board). Recently I did a part in Sir Trevor Nunn´s production 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun' at National Theatre. Recently I have done one man show in Sweden called 'Therapy Session', written by Andrew Neil / Adrian Colborne.
