All music, but in particular Reggae/Rocksteady/Ska. I love that Old School mid-sixties Jamaican Sound! Bands/Artists in particular: Earnest Ranglin, Bob Marley, The Aggrolites, JBB, Anthony B, 10 ft. Ganja Plant, Sublime, The Clash, Augustus Pablo, Culture, Burning Spear, STEEL PULSE (!), Horace Andy, Dennis Brown, Greggory Issacs, King Tubby, Groundation, Ras Attitude, The Skatalites, "Scratch" Perry, DESMOND DEKKER(RIP), HORACE ANDY, JACOB MILLER, Midnite, and...many more. I do listen to a whole lot of other music though, including: The Be Good tanyas, Antibalas, Old school jazz, Pearl Jam, Brent Berry, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo,Bob Dylan,Dropkick Murpheys, Flogging Molly,Elvis Presley,Spearhead, Cat Power, Stevie Wonder, The Grateful Dead, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Beatles, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, THE POGUES(!), and a bunch of conscious hip hop, like Chali Tuna, Aycealone, Abstract Rude, De La Soul,Del, Wu-Tang, Hieroglyphics, Swollen Members, Gruf, Lyrics Born,Ozomatli and many others. I even like old country if that brings perspective to how broad my musical tastes are. Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, George Jones, and my Grandfather, LUCKY LOOK, to name a few. Oh, and if you don't like Sam Cooke...get the hell off my page.
A movie freak, I probably screen 10-15 a week. I love movies. No commercials, and the beauty of escaping into a different time/place. I have seen WAY to many to compile a list.
TV? Not so much...the news, a few basketball games (march madness!) and some Red Sox Games. News and Sports. I only have basic cable. And I rarely watch it.
So many...A few: The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, TORTILLA FLATS, The RUM DIARYS, The BIBLE, Rob Roy's books on Alternative Building methods, Healing With Whole Foods, Wild Fermentation, Catch a Fire, Shel Silverstien's books...
