One can hardly believe that Mjay only began singing four short years ago when you consider his impressive technique, tone , feel , range and innate musicality and ability to improvise. And then there is that stellar falsetto!Teaching himself piano by ear at the age of seven within a nurturing musical family, Mjay was exposed to the greats of Motown: Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, The Platters and later Michael Jackson . This exposure influenced him greatly in his preferred genre of R&B and soul both in terms of the authentic “black sound†and his immense talent for songwriting, producing and arranging. As a result, Mjay is very much at home singing R&B, Pop, Soul, Funk, Dance, Gospel and Jazz.
