Announcing the winner of the 2007 Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Award.On Easter Monday April 9, 2007 six young finalists performed in front of the Judges and a crowd of 1000's in the Barossa Valley.The Finals of the Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Award were hosted by 2005 Winner Kate Fuller. The finalists were:MPC - SA Avedis - SA Robert Cini - QLD Danni Stefanetti - WA Mjay - SA Katrina Burgoyne - QLD Avedis SA.It was a really tough decison because the standard was so high. The judges deliberated for quite sometime and the final result was very close.Glenn and The Scholarship Team are proud to announce that the Winner of The 2007 Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Award is the very talented Danni Stefanetti, a 17 yo singer songwriter from WA.. Congratulations to Danni and all the finalists for your excellent performances..And now the work begins.. A prestigious bi-annual Award with an emphasis on Mentoring, Supporting & Encouraging Serious Young Aussie Singer /Songwriter /Musicians. Preparing them for a long-term career in the music business. Less Hype & More Heart!Since the inception of the Award the first two winners have succeeded well beyond expectations. The scholarship arranged an audition with Sony/BMG for Inaugural recipient Michael Paynter who was signed to the label in August 2006.The 2005 recipient-Brilliant Jazz vocalist Kate Fuller, recently recorded her 12 track CD at Sony Music Studios in Sydney in June this year. Australia's Answer to Nora Jones, as a result of her scholarship recordings Kate was selected to perform at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Europe in July this year, backed the legendary Al Jarreau.InformationIn honour of Glenn's illustrious career and musical achievements, we present "The Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Awards" Awarded bi-annually to talented young Australian vocalist/musician/songwriters.The prestigious Glenn Shorrock Scholarship award will be open to Australian vocalist, musicians & songwriters between the ages of 15-25 years (as at Closing Date of March 1, 2007). If you are a band the majority of members must be over 15 and under 25.All entrants for the preliminary round are required to submit an CD/video or DVD of three songs consisting of:-One Cover Contemporary, One Original Contemporary, One Ballad (of own choice)The finalists will be flown to South Australia, the place where it all began for Glenn.Finalists will perform at the festival on an outdoor stage in front of the Judges and a live audience of thousands.
