I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Wow! That's always a tough question to answer when someone throws it in your face. You say too much and people think you are a dick. You say too little and people assume that you are a geek. I hope that I am neither so I will try and find a good balance between the two. I like to think that I am a pretty mellow guy, very slow to anger. Life is way too short to waste precious time in anger or seeking revenge against someone. I am an ecclectic soul and have had a number of jobs that gave me the opportunity to explore the human psyche and soul---probation officer, teacher, coach, newspaper writer and editor, chef, counselor and finally, psychologist. I am comfortable in the halls of power and down in the trenches. People are wonderful and marvelous beings and to get to share bits and pieces of their lives is a wonderful opportunity I have had and I totally appreciate that. I am at a point in life where other people are now more important than myself and that, my friends, is a wonderful stage of life. I realize I am here to help people and that is what I will continue to do until I can do it no more. I listen to what people have to say, and better yet, I hear what they are saying. I want to think that I am here to help and that is what I will always try to do. All you have to do is ask.

My Interests

All the world is a stage---that is what really interests me....the actors that populate this massive stage we call earth. I enjoy helping people understand what is going on inside of them by using simple communication techniques to loosen the pent-up frustrations and tensions inside of them. Seeing people get better is what really interests me

I'd like to meet:

People of all shapes and sizes--not only physically but mentally as well. History, which I taught, is full of characters I would like to meet and spend time with but each and every one of you are just as important because you, too, are a part of life and living. That is the beauty of the world we live in. All we have to do is share.

Music:

I am a classical music fan but listen to just about everything on the musical spectrum. Still, Beethovan, Mozart and Wagner are really hard to put aside for some of the "music" being played today.

Movies:

As an old high school and college coach, "Hoosiers", "Field of Dreams" and "The Natural" rank up at the top of my list and, of course, any Bogart film.

Television:

Television is a vast wasteland. 'nuff said.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECxUupqLNQA

Books:

Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon top my list along with histories and biographies of the world's great ones. Agatha Christie is my weakness.

Heroes:

My heroes are the missionaries for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) who give so much of themselves so that others can learn the truth--the whole truth.

The personality of people

Once more into the breach I went, same as thousands of literary characters through the pages of English literature.  I did not face cannon, guns or swords as those stalwart characters did, but fa...

Return from the Ranch

Change

Someone once said that "change was good for the soul"  I don't remember who it was--probably one of those olde English poets or writers we all had to learn about in Literature  class in coll...

The Show Must Go On

Shakespeare once said that "All the world is a stage..." and I have to admit that I have been a believer of that most of my life.  Life itself is a stage and the segments of our lives are merely ...

Survival

Life is a funny thing. One minute you think things are all going along just wonderfully and then, in an instant, it all goes to crap. We stand around and wring our hands and lament to the high heave...

Random thoughts and contemplations

Once again it is time to sit down in front of this electronic marvel and pen (type) words that express feelings and emotions.  The world around us is a cold and unfeeling place.  It is up to...
