Michael Learns To Rock is definitely one of the biggest Danish successes on the music scene, with more than 9 million albums sold world wide since their debut album in 1991.
The creative force of the band is Jascha Richter who wrote all of MLTR songs – mostly on his own. The number of hits is long with pearls like: The Actor, Sleeping Child, That’s Why (You Go Away) and Someday.
Jascha’s songwriting is still focused on high quality pop songs with great melodies inspired of artists like; Supertramp, 10CC, Elton John and The Bee Gees.
After 6 albums with MLTR, Jascha has now released a solo album â€Where I Belongâ€. The album includes some of Jascha’s strongest songs written to date. The ballad â€My Saviour†is co-written with Australian songwriter Pam Reswick who co-wrote Tina Arena’s worldwide hit â€Chains†in 1995. You will recognize the style from MLTR with Jascha’s significant voice and vocal arrangements. Jascha is also the main producer of the album in co-operation with a number of talented producers and songwriters like Johan Stentorp, Peter Wallevik, Johan Bejerholm and Mogens Binderup.
Interestingly enough, the sound of the album is more guitar oriented than you would expect from Jascha Richter as he mostly writes his songs on the piano and is the keyboard player on stage.
