Sciatika is a currently a three-piece alternative band in Auckland NZ. The band consists of bass, drums and guitar with all members sharing vocal duties. With so many varying influences, (from Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Nirvana to bands such as Blindspott, System of a Down and The Mars Volta) the band has developed a distinct sound and style.With a steady flow of songwriting Sciatika is currently working on increasing their repertoire and skill levels.The band has its roots in a band formed in 2003 which never really got going. However drummer David and guitarist Scott persevered and finally got the band into a 5 piece under a different name in 2005 having recruited the current bass player Tim. Unfortunately due to other commitments the band lost its frontman and became the final 3 piece of today under the name of Sciatika.
