Go-Go started to rise throughout the early 1980’s with EU’s appearance alongside rap grandfather Kurtis Blow on “Party Time," and even the release of a concert movie ‘Good To Go.’
EU is one of the original Washington, DC Go-Go Bands. Titles like “Da Butt”, “Buck Wild”, Taste of Your Love”, “Shake Your Thang” (duet with rap group Salt & Pepa) are just a few of The Mega Hits from EU. After Landing a soundtrack in 1988 With the great producer/writer Spike Lee’s film “School Daze”, EU scored Sugar Bear’s latest single entitled “BOUNCE” already has people saying it’s a hit!

From Billboard Magazine:
Known originally by its full name Experience Unlimited, E.U. was the top Washington, D.C., go-go group and jumped to the national stage after Spike Lee used its song "Da Butt" in his 1988 film "School Daze."
Now, 20 years later, E.U. returns with a new album, "The Mixture," on the newly relaunched Teddy Bear Records label. The album, set for release no later than November, will feature a re-edited version of "Da Butt," E.U. frontman Gregory "Sugar Bear" Elliot says.
"The main source of the song is still there, but we added a new beginning and new middle section," Elliot says of "Da Butt 2008." The rest of the album is new material, he adds, breaking the repertoire down into seven dance tracks, one rock tune and the rest ballads.
"I don't want to get away from the roots of what we do," Elliot says. "We just added a little more electric-sounding stuff and more keyboards, but we never get away from our true sound. It's like selling your soul to the devil-if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We don't get away from none of our originality."
Teddy Bear principal Ted Hopkins doesn't expect "too [many] problems" promoting "The Mixture" because E.U. "has a pretty good track record," he says.
Teddy Bear has set up "The Mixture" with the Sept. 18 compilation album "E.U. and Friends School Daze Revisited . . . 20 Years Later."
Hopkins adds, "We got the troops doing legwork with posters, fliers, the Internet. We're getting with the chapters-the fraternities and sororities on campus-local newspapers and beating the bushes till we get heard and get some airplay."
Elliot, who has taught special education in high school the last 12 years while still performing concerts two or three nights per week, lauds his new label's efforts.
"It's not as big as [E.U.'s former label] Virgin, of course, but it gives us the attention we need," he says. "When Virgin signed Janet Jackson, that was their main focus, and we suffered with the other groups. I understand Janet is a superstar, but the little man's got to eat, too."
