African Squirrel Fly is the product of years of hard work and dedication. The founding fathers of this entity have strived to create something different. An un-homogenized sound known as "THE HARDCORE COSMIC FUNK EXPERIENCE"!

What can you expect at an AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY show? This is a high energy rock show from Start to Finish – both sonically and visually captivating. AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY is not about providing background music. "We are all about providing an entertaining show that transports people from their daily grind to a place outside of time and space."

AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY is a four piece rock powerhouse – A SOLID, DRIVING, RHYTHM SECTION consisting of Aaron Metz on guitar, Ryan Willingham on bass, Charles Carrera on Drums and handling lead vocals, David Rome, whose sparkling charisma and amazing vocal talents mesh perfectly with the tight, powerful musicianship of AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY’S rhythm section.

AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY was formed in October of 2006 by Aaron, Ryan & Charles. David filled the vocalist slot in February of 2007. After playing many private parties to “flesh out” their show, ASF is poised and ready to take their show to the masses.

What does an AFRICAN SQUIRREL FLY sound like? We don’t know either since it’s a mythical creature. As for us, we were collectively and individually influenced by the sounds of PINK FLOYD, PANTERA, INCUBUS, 311, LED ZEPPELIN, BELA FLECK, U2, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, SUBLIME, VAN HALEN, ALICE IN CHAINS, STAIND, TYPE O NEGATIVE, LES CLAYPOOL, THE URGE, FOO FIGHTERS, WEEZER, POD, RHCP & STP. Because of these influences we have been dubbed by friends and fans as “THE Hardcore Cosmic Funk Experience.”
