About Me

Stray Dog home © J.W. Laswell 2004 Alpha Dawg Records BMI. J.W. Laswell is no stranger to these parts. Born in a modest little farm house at the end of what is now known as Laswell-Gentry Rd. in Ottawa Ky. about ten miles from Renfro Valley he spent his early years listening to the music coming from WRFK Radio. Some of the first sounds he can remember are those of an old flat top guitar that his mother played as she sang country and gospel songs. Though time and circumstance would take him far from the peaceful sounds of rural farm life in the 1950’s he has never forgotten his roots or the influence of his loving family. After many years as a professional musician he felt his first solo release (Stray Dog Home) should reflect upon this humble introduction to music. http://www.alphadawgrecords.com/
