The Lacefields

About Me

A while back a group of well seasoned musicians met at a local night club. Well, music started happening and some nods of enjoyment turned into thoughts of sharing this feeling with the public. This called for further such gatherings and after several it was decided by the ones left standing that some organization and planning could make this happen. So, how do you put a label on this thing and promote it? It has three distinctive singer songwriters on the front line powered by an awsome field tested rhythm section. Country-Americana, that must be it! Now, take all these fields of experience, lace it up enough to be comfortably enjoyed and you have, The Lacefields! The Lacefields are:Ernie Love-lead guitar, vocals Brett Brock-guitar, vocals J.W. Laswell-guitar, keys, vocals Don Kehrer-bass, vocals Rick Faul-drums, percs, vocalsBrett Brock started out singing and acting a fool in front of family and friends at an early age. Elvis, Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Buck Owens and Johnny Cash were all prowerful influences on the impressionable young lad. It was the pictures they painted with the words and music that really captured me, says Brett. Brett describles himself as a dreamer, trying to live out his fantasties. Brett's goal with the Lacefields is to blend the musical influences of Rock, Blues and Country to make something beautiful and moving to paint his own pictures with words and music for others.Brett has finished his first solo cd this year "House of a Thousand Heartaches" BMI., ANA., MMP. All songs written & sang by him. www.myspace.com/brettbrock Stray Dog home © J.W. Laswell 2004 Alpha Dawg Records BMI. J.W. Laswell is no stranger to these parts. Born in a modest little farm house at the end of what is now known as Laswell-Gentry Rd. in Ottawa Ky. about ten miles from Renfro Valley he spent his early years listening to the music coming from WRFK Radio. Some of the first sounds he can remember are those of an old flat top guitar that his mother played as she sang country and gospel songs. Though time and circumstance would take him far from the peaceful sounds of rural farm life in the 1950’s he has never forgotten his roots or the influence of his loving family. After many years as a professional musician he felt his first solo release (Stray Dog Home) should reflect upon this humble introduction to music. http://www.alphadawgrecords.com/ Ernie Love............... a true rodeo cowboy Nashville, singer/songerwriter has been in the business for more years than we can remember. He has a history of recording with many of Nashville's great and other artists. Ernie's last allbum charted in the top ten on the country charts. Donnie Kehrer (bass player for The Lacefields) Began playing guitar when He was 10. Played on any old crusty thing He could afford. Finally took up bass full time when He was 12. Don found His gift playing bass. Getting right out of high school, Don played with Otis Williams, a King Record artist. Played with Joe Garcia for a 2 year stint. Joe introduced him to some of Cincinnati’s best talent. Somehow He came across Gradual Taylor. He played with him for about a year or so and got to do some recording with him. That was His 1st time in a real recording studio! Moved to Florida then to California during the 80s. Moved back to Cincinnati in 1989. Got back into playing with Gradual Taylor doing the dance techno music and then Bad Bob Logsdon and Jimmy Roberts playing the blues and R & B. He finally met J.W. Laswell who arranged for Him to join Uncle Daddy and the Family Secret. Don was in musical paradise. J.W. was doing his own thing and Don became his bass player for his next C.D. Still with J.W, Don is now working on putting “The Lacefields” together. Drummer Rick Faul whom will cut tracks for several of the upcoming releases tracks. Faul plays drums with Uncle Daddy and now The Lacefield's as well as participating in his churches band. Rick is among more than eight additional studio players slated to record on the effort including a horn section, backing vocals and guitar work. "The effort is nearly perfect on its own at this point. To bring these kinds of professionals into the mix is going to blow the roof off. a href=
