JUAN MANUEL VÉRTIZ

COMPOSER & MULTI - INSTRUMENTALIST

About Me

I was born on May 14th of 1982, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. I´ve studied music since I was a kid, playing piano, guitar, bass, drums and singing during my entire life. My mother (Amelia polverini) is a pianist, and she works for a cruise-line in the Mediterranean Sea. My father (Nestor) died at 52, when I was 12 years old. I have the same love for arts than my parents. My mother shows me everyday how to live by and for the music, and my father gave me some of my main musical influences (Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd). My first compositions were some silly basic rock songs and a few classical melodies, when I was 10. Since then, I never stop writing. I had my first own band called "Orion" at the age of 16. We´ve played some kind of hard rock with nice melodies and spanish lyrics. I was the lead guitar and vocalist then. We were a trio, and we played many times in our city with a little success. By 1999 (17 years old) I already had 100 songs written! (mostly of them, now in the trash or just recycled). In the year 2000 I´ve started to write in english a conceptual saga called "The myths of Arghlan" with music and lyrics for it. That year, I´ve started looking for some local musicians to form a metal band. In 2002, I´ve officially founded "ABADDYON", based on my compositions and stories. Also, I´ve written some "classical" music. Improving my skills with baroque, classical and contemporary pieces. After a lot of years in Conservatory, I´ve decided to take particular lessons again. And I´m in it yet.Well, there´s a lot more to say but... READ MY BLOGS FROM TIME TO TIME!and remember: ARS OMNIA VINCIT (Art defeats all)" border=0
