About Me
The TEAM is the Theatre of the Emerging American Moment. We are a New York City-based theatre company that pairs rigorous physicality with heightened text to dissect and celebrate the experience of living in the world today. The voice and body of the performer are at the center of the company’s athletic work, which pushes the boundaries between dance and theatre.Our theatre is at times a rock concert, at times a sporting event, and hopes to be as social and moving as a night at the bar with good friends. We create plays that deal simultaneously on a highly intellectual and deeply visceral level, blending wickedly funny pop-culture refer-ences with complex texts that ask audiences to think critically about the world and their role within it.Ours is a theatre that does not deny its youth, even as it speaks with authority about the American culture. With sweat and humor, the TEAM’s plays uphold the fragility and poeticism of the human body and spirit.
