Some would say this band was just a bunch of kids who were bored and started a band, well i'd be lying if i told you those people were wrong. This band formed in the summer of 2005, with no more the David Wilkerson on guitar, Steven O'Donnell on drums, David Cygan on Vocals, and Andrew Fischer on Bass. This band was set, after a few shows they have come to the conclusion they want to sound more full as band, so after long talks of who should try out, only one man comes to mind to fill these shoes. Ben Coram walks in the picture, this my friends was the start of something great. The Band was full and things sounded great, A Winter's Rose found its catchy metalcore sound with a hint of grind notes. After countless shows and good times with other bands, the band had to make a decision that would change there band forever, getting a new vocalist. Certain things weren't working with David Cygan so they had to let him go, Vince West walks in the picture and fits in with the band and becomes a friend to fans a friends. At this time the band realized they needed to record because they took down old recordings with vocals of David Cygan, so the band went to Peak Audio in South Bend, IN to record there song "Jill Johnson Wears Combat Boots and a Parka". It became ear candy to kids at shows, several months after more countless shows and sharing the stage with huge touring bands and local bands that they were friends with, it became a time where they realized A Winter's Rose shall be no more, this decision was based upon the music genre, there future in music and everything in between. These boys held a Last Show Ever at the Skunks Nest in Niles, MI August 8th 2006, with another local bands Last Show Ever, that band was Twelve is Romanian, a loved local with a very melodic sound. Before the show they made the decision David Cygan should do Vocals with Vince West because he was once a part of A Winter's Rose. It was indeed a sad day in the making for these 6 boys, but all great things m,ust come to an end, with all that being said, some will miss the fun times with AWR on stage with there crazy stage presence and chants like "She Said SHe Likes Slayer", and with that being some of the members have started new projects and went on with different goals in life, check out the new bands d00d!
BACK FOR ONE LAST TIME!
