About Me

The van was built in 1988 by Ford. The color was a dark ocean blue. The tires were thick and smooth. The chrome on the bumpers were shinier than any new cadillac. But for years, it's been deteriorating, as a beat up work van. Many thought its' life cruising the streets were over. But during the summer of 2001, it was given a second chance at life. It was going to be a van reborn. The tires were renewed. The paint coat, redone. The chrome on the bumper, replaced and polished. By the second month of February 2002, it was completed. The van was given a new life; A new name...So it started a few years ago, a couple friends were workin some dead end jobs at some restaurants and retail stores, then this one day came along in the summer of '01 when the weather was soo hot that they had to sit half dressed in one of the friend's cold basement just to stay cool. Anyways, they were watching tv and they believe this Blink182 music video came on, and they had this van that they drove around the city doing crazy things. After it was over, someone said it, no one really remembers who, but they said, "we should get a van and do stuff like that." And for some reason, they all just looked at eachother and didn't even debate on it. Maybe it was the effect of heat on the mind, or the fact that they lived in Delaware (boring capital of the world) but they just knew it had to be done. So they all chipped in thier money and put in everything they could muster up from pockets and piggy banks. They ended up actually buying a van by the next afternoon. And throughout the rest of that year, they just kept hooking it up little by little with stuff, and by the following spring, it became what you see it as today...We currently do promoting and advertising for local bands and venues in Delaware and across the east coast. The van just became the main streetteam leader for the local Delaware band, Bombs Away (BombsAwayBand.com). We like meeting a lot of cool people and we figured even though the weather still kinda sucks out on this side of the coastline, and people are still locked away in their cozy houses sitting at their computer, it's no reason for the meeting and greeting to stop. So here we are and we welcome you to come take a ride...~The Mystery Machine Crew
