Russell “Romance” Foster, Frank “Duke” Fleming, Roshawn “Slow Motion” Lyles, and Lewis “Drey Skonie” Jackson; better known as KWIET STORM are a sensational National R&B/Pop Group that hails from Chicago.
In contract to their names, these young men are ready to take the U.S. and the world by storm. KWIET STORMS’ unique blend of harmony and individually gifted singing/writing abilities allows the group to have a sound of their own, and makes them distinguishable from other current R&B/Pop artist on the scene.
KS members have been tirelessly rehearsing and performing, and they now captivate audiences everywhere. These artists have displayed showmanship usually performed by veterans well beyond their years.
KWIET STORM has appeared on BET’s 106 & Park Live. Their first video “Leave Me Alone” was featured on the 106 & Park New Joint of the Day segment as well as BET’s Midnight Love. Also, KWIET STORM has performed in concert with various R&B/Rap national recording artists.
In addition to performing with national artists, KWIET STORM was blessed with the opportunity to headline a tour of their own with the Chicago Public School Academic Excellence Tour. KS toured over 30 high schools capping off their tour with a huge concert at the Arie Crown Theatre, where they performed in front of over four thousand screaming high school fans.
In early 2004, KS won the CHICAGO MUSIC AWARD for the most outstanding band for 2004. Their debut CD entitled “IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM” was released on February 10, 2004 and can still be found online and at major retail chains. (Best Buy, Borders, FYE, etc.)
KWIET STORMS’ second single "Lights Out, Candles Lit" lit up the Midwest airwaves, becoming one of the most requested songs on Power 92 Chicago (WPWX 92.3). In addition to radio, KS took to television, appearing and performing on the WGN morning show and wooing the crowd with their enchanting performance and their rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the Windy City Basketball Classic, (N.Y. vs. Chicago H.S. All Stars) televised on ABC.
After taking a hiatus, members of KWIET STORM have reemerged and reinvented themselves. With a hot new image and a fresh new sound, KWIET STORM members now have a new name and brand called KS2 (Kwiet Storm 2nd Edition.) New members within the past year have been actively pursuing their individual goals. Drey Skonie was featured on “MTV’s Making of the Band 4” this year. Duke has been actively pursuing his modeling career. Slow Motion stepped into the music business portion of the industry assisting in co-managing and developing newly signed rap duo “Block Xchange”. And a strong commitment to brotherhood allowed Romance to actively participate currently with “Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.”
With an extended catalog of recorded music, and a strong will to once again take the R&B/Pop genre by storm, KS2 is undeniably prepared for the main stream once again. Their current demo album shows their unique style, versatility and extreme passion and love for music. So whether it’s a great storytelling track as in “Seasons Change” , a classic love ballad like “Reminisce” , a club banger as in “Belly Dancing” and “Everybody , or a sensual love track like “Lights Out, Candles Lit” , KWIET STORM has it covered.
