G-Tone & Tempo started their sound and music trip about a decade ago during their high school years in Peristeri City, Athens. G-Tone was a dj and at that time had 2 regular nights every week in a small pre-club spinnin hip hop, trip hop and ambient sounds plus an opening set for 2 well known greek dj's. Tempo was a graffiti artist with his name writen everywere in the city and also had some very good mic skills. After a few months of illeagal activity in the city they created their first group. At that time the only equipment they had for their rehershals was an old mixer, a JVC turntable, a stolen mic and tempo's hi-fi. After a year of rehershals they managed to repair an old small room (3x4m) that G-Tone had on the roof of his house and turned it into a small recording studio named "The Lab", and managed to buy some better equipment (a PC, a recording mixing desk and a Boss sampler). At that time G-Tone was working part time in a recording studio as an assistant sound engineer and got them some hours of proper recodings. They managed to finish a 6-track E.P. and a remix of Dj Shadow's "Six Days" and had some live gigs in Athens. By that time G-Tone and 2 other turntablists created a dj's band named "Addicted Needles" and released their first scratch-line track . At that time Tempo had to quit his activities to do his army time for about 2 years. G-Tone continued his activities with addicted needles giving some interviews and live acts on the radio around Greece. Also G-Tone with another dj made cd complilation for a street magazine called "FREEZE". After 6 months G-Tone had to quit from his activities too to do his army time for 2 years. G-Tone and Tempo met up after almost 3 years in 2004. By that time Tempo had finished his studies and G. Cotgreave was working as a sound engineer and instalator for a sound company in Athens.He also had some regular dj gigs in clubs of Athens. From 2004 till 2005 they were traveling around Greece and Europe to discuss with people and get fresh ideas for their music, finaly in 2006 they created Dope Sounds Corp. which is more a production team than a group.
