The Siren's Medicine was formed in September of 2005 by band members Lyric Destiny and Dorothy June with the goal of introducing the world to a new style of music that successfully merged the lucid beauty of classical piano with the power of rock. Both Lyric and Dorothy grew up in Palm Springs and are classically trained musicians with knowledge in advanced theory and tonal harmony. Their joint range of instruments include flute, piano, guitar, bassoon, bass, cello, percussion, and clarinet.
Lyric and Dorothy are artists by nature and have spent their lives surrounding themselves with all forms of art to help satisfy their never-ending thirst to understand and create. Together they generate a musical energy that has been called "haunting" and "seductive" by listeners. The Siren's Medicine gives form to a unique and passionate ideal that is seldom heard and provides listeners with a fresh and powerful musical experience.
First meeting in middle school, their similar personalities violently clashed as they spent the next few years trying to break each-other's wills. Finally, by the time they neared the end of high school they had matured enough to appreciate their astonishingly similar personalities, ideals, and talents.
They found that when together they generated an energy and connection that they could use to support each-other, and in turn themselves, as individuals. It wasn't long before they discovered they could use this intangible and surreal bond to fully realize their artistic potentials.
Their vibrantly energetic yet profoundly thoughtful natures make them a charismatic and irresistible duo that quickly wins the hearts of individuals from every genre, age, and style.
