a world beat.

About Me

MOKOJAH bio:
Mokojah is starting over fresh. In Vancouver. Bio and new sounds coming soon, stay tuned...
From the MOKOJAH scrolls, chapter One (a.k.a. the silly old bio):
1 A biography is usually the story of peoples' lives. Sometimes a metaphoric story, sometimes a mystic revelation. Mokojah came into Being because Jahrad conceptualized a musical/artistic/poetic presentation with a desire to awaken global consciousness by channelizing experiences and the ideas encountered through them into art form. The history of Mokojah is an exciting and eventful one.
2 So unto Earth came Mokojah on stilts and the brothers with their cables dangling like umbilicus reminded the masses why they had come onto Earth,
3 and the people were held captive by ancient lost frequencies as they vibrated with the new strange wave of music...until with Mokojah they all began to chant, "this is my story...this is your story...this is our story...this is the time that mysteries unfold....as was written by prophets of old.."
4 And with the masses Mokojah went again to Phenopia where it was revealed that they were truly kin from the same ancestral line of Mokojahite griots of Metaphysical traditions - herbalists, artists, sound-explorers, astronomers, artificers, metaguitarologists, humble men.
5 Mokojah is an idea, a vibe. a laugh. love.

Sounds Like: Mozart meets a Funkadelic on Pluto with a fleet of way spaced out Jimi Hendrix Jazzers on guitar, poetry from Phenopia, percussion inspired by India, electronica and off-kilt rhythms, some Polish vibes, and a lot of good times.

Sometimes vaguely audible elements emerge from the mix only to fade unexpected away again. Raw and technosavvy at the same time. Informed by reggae, jazz, classic rock, funk and eastern sounds.

And the lyrics, you are just going to have to listen well to believe them!
