I am the eldest son of Shawn & Caroline Brady. I have two sisters, Kimberly and Kayla, and two adopted brothers, Frankie and Maxwell. Bo is his half-brother. I was a police detective when I first met Dr. Marlena Evans in 1982 when I was assigned to protect her from the Salem Strangler. We fell in love, but as with many Salem couples, there were obstacles to overcome before we could marry. The main obstacle, not surprisingly, was Stefano DiMera. Stefano made an assassination attempt on our wedding day. I survived and soon Marlena and I were the parents of twins, Samantha and Eric.Shot again by Stefano in later years, I was presumed dead, but was actually being held captive. While I struggled to escape and reunite with Marlena, she had moved on with a stranger named John Black. I returned to Salem a few years later and set the record straight. However, Marlena and John had an affair after I returned and she became pregnant with John's child, Belle, just as Marlena & I were trying to rekindle our marriage.I was devastated, divorced Marlena and left town for secret ISA mission. Later, word spread that I had been killed leaving Marlena & John free to marry. On their wedding day, I returned from the dead once again, and enlisted John's and Stefano's help in finding a cure for the deadly disease I was infected with.Despite my return to good health, and Salem, I had to let go of Marlena. Too much had happened and her love for John had grown during my second absence. It was then that I grew closer to Kate Roberts, much to my daughter Sami's dismay.When Kate and I planned a gala New Year's Eve wedding at Tuscany, Sami tried desperately to stop it. Hers wasn't the only drama, for moments after the ceremony I was "killed" by the Salem Stalker. While on the island with other "victims", I was eventually reunited with Marlena. We teamed up to help with the escape plan, but we were both recaptured during the attempt. It only brought us closer together. Finally free, we returned to Salem to face the fact that John & Kate were now in love and engaged!Marlena's subsequent pregnancy and miscarriage took a toll on me and I left Salem once again. But I am back now.
