Tso's Chicken. On brown rice. With a spring roll on the side.
Ian McNabb, Steve Jobs (again), Bono (again), Madonna, Neil Diamond, Dan Brown, Anne Rice, Chris Carter, and Marybeth. And my 16 year-old self. Oh the things I would tell her.But she wouldn’t listen.
Music - I like a lot of different styles. I have a new fav each week. All time favorites that have remained favorites throughout my life (or throughout their careers): AC/DC, Madonna, Icicle Works, Ian McNabb, Neil Diamond, U2, Grateful Dead, Sex Pistols, The Beatles, The Cult, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Led Zep, Rage Against the Machine, No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, Coldplay, Tracy Bonham, Van Halen, Evergreen Dazed, Nashspacerocket, god I could go on and on and on. It's easier to tell you what music styles I DON'T like. I don't like smooth jazz aka "Todays Elevator Musak". It makes me want to vomit. I love REAL jazz though. I don't like reggae all that much. I like hip-hop and some rap but I don't like much R&B. And I don't like "Todays Country".I go thru phases of music I listen too. Have all my life. I was into an 80's mood before I moved but now I only have about 60-70 CD's with me here in CA and it is KILLING ME.
Movies - favs include all the Star Wars films, all the Jurassic Park films, The X-Files: Fight The Future, Sin City, V for Vendetta, Sliding Doors, Princess Bride, West Side Story, Meet Me in St. Louis, well made horror films and some sci-fi (but not any Trek,) any films with sharks or dinosaurs in them, and old classic movies. I also like films set in other time periods - especially the distant past.
TV shows - 24 - aka the best show on TV. And if I had cable I'd watch Battlestar Galactica. I was a big fan of the original series when I was little. I was even a member of the fan club. I also really like The Colbert Report, but again - no cable. Since I have no cable I usually end up watching lots of PBS - I love the show Globetrekker. And PBS does lots of great documentaries. As does the Discovery Channel and The History Channel but....I have no cable. I try not to watch too much TV, though. That is pretty easy when you don't have cable. I will watch Jordan's Crossing, CSI (Vegas) and any of the Law & Order shows if they are on. And Sex and the City reruns. And I like The Office but I always seem to miss it. I used to watch The X-Files, Millennium, Buffy, Angel, & Charmed. I don't like the direction that TV has gone. Every other program is a reality show that uses people's stupidity as entertainment. This from a girl who almost sent in a tape for the first Survivor. Thank God I didn't - I thought it would ACTUALLY be about surviving in the wilderness. I did, however, send in an audition tape for Colonial House on PBS but I wasn't selected. I still watched it anyway. I am glad it was on PBS so I could watch it - thank God it wasn't on cable. Did I mention I don't have cable?************************UPDATE************************ *****I now have cable!!!!!!!!!!! So I can watch The Office and the Cobert Report and the Discovery Channel and the History Channel. And I gotta find out when Battlestar Galactica is on! Cuz I have cable!!! (So what the hell am I doing online?...)
Books - Holy Blood Holy Grail, Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, everything Anne Rice has ever written, The Alchemist, and Naked (David Sedaris). I like to read classic literature as well. But I am a slow reader cause I gotta hear it in my head. Like the voice of Jeeesss-us! And I find it hard to make time for reading. Right now I am reading "Sex, Drugs, Einstein, & Elves" by Clifford A. Pickover. Purchased at the famous Citylights Bookstore in sunny San Francisco.Well sunny after the fog burns off around noon that is...
Tasia Fisher - the Queen of Ketchup. She's intoxicating. My mom and grandmother - for running such fabulous households. I am in awe of their talents and hope that the gift is genetic.
