About Me

Since everyone disliked my last blurb i've decided to revamp it and am employing a less depressed approach to my self presentation. I'm 23, i live in vancouver and I'm attending the University of British Columbia for the second time as an undergraduate student. I like to run, do karate, finish my homwork and get good grades on tests and papers. I think that animal crackers are a bit dry but very delicious. I dislike sitting around talking with a bunch of people and realizing that no one is listening when I'm talking. I very much enjoy beer, blues music, AC/DC, the dirt in New Mexico and people who are funny, or more specifically those who aim to entertain or at least laugh long and hard. Recusant is a word that I just learned and I'd like to think it was a good descriptor. I'm learning a lot of very neat and interesting, and unsettling things in school these days. Talking and learning about humans all day long can be very depressing and exhausting but I've been doing it now for a few years and it's also very enlightening. I really like steam rooms and saunas and sweating, its one of the most healthy things you can do, really nothing beats a good schvitz. tbc...

My Interests

fomenting revolution, trying to come up with a single original idea, the opposite sex, SCHOOL, my family, Karate, learning, reading, hearing new music...

I'd like to meet:

People who give a shit about having an interesting conversation without getting too serious or upset. People who like to laugh and make jokes and be irreverent. Well behaved dogs. People who like to spend time in the sun, run around, wrestle, throw frisbees, baseballs and other inanimate objects. People who know more about cars than me. Any one who smiles when you say the word Socrates to them, like "So Crates". Actually anyone who smiles really, except ugly people, I don't want to meet anyone ugly. Like ugly on the inside, cause that kind of ugly shines right through. Did I mention I like dogs...

Music:

AC/DC. The Hollies. The White Stripes. Bob Seger. Led Zepplin. Tupac. Frank Sinatra. Johnny Cash. Jamiroquoi (really). Wolf Parade and Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah. Some Arcade Fire. Some Broken Social Scene. Kings of Convienience. Royksop. Slow Coaster. Metalica. The Cars. The Beatles. The Rolling Stones (except at the Super Bowl). Melissa Ethridge. Lynyrd Skynyrd. Robert Johnson. T Bone Walker. Muddy Watters. Pink Floyd (not a true fan though). Audioslave. The Libertines. Block Party. The Killers. Quentin Tarrentino soundtracks. Sir Mix-a-lot (for nothing more than Baby Got Back). Tribe (both before and after Fergi). The Beach Boys (are important). Ray Charles. Marvin Gaye. Curtis Mayfield. Bon Jovi. Al Green. etc.

Books:

Zorba the Greek is my favorite book. I loved reading the Mists of Avalon. A Million Little Pieces was an excellent story. The Ways of White Folks is a very good title. The Case of the Dog in the Midnight was short and informative about autism. I'm reading about six different textbooks now aswell and they are all much more interesting, and well written than i had originally anticipated.

Heroes:

Guy Fawkes. Ghandi. Raphael Nadal. The 2004 Calgary Flames. Fidel Castro. Harriet Tubman. Alexander the Great. JP Satre. Noam Chomsky. Han Solo. Hugo Chavez.
