Influences:
Sounds Like: My writing influences are extremely diverse. There is truely something to be said for a person, who can write about what they are feeling or going through ...and then have those emotions touch others that are going through the same things ....whether it be now or that they have been there before. I try to write in that same way....because I am inspired by people who are so very powerful with that gift. Songs by Luther to Stevie Wonder.....Lionel Richie....Earth Wind and Fire, and then into the new generations with Jill Scott, Lauren Hill and Erykah Badu.....I love to hear what they are talking about. I also write with thoughts of certain people singing the song....Powerful singers like Stephanie Mills never seem to get their props anymore...but that is what moves me .....those voices like Babyface, Johnny Gill, Shirly Murdock,that are very distinctive...smooth as silk, to the ruff and rugged sounds of Mary J's voice.I also draw from the groups that I grew up on, New Edition, Ready for the World, Troop......those kinds of cats!
