After recognizing the talent and versatility of this top hip-hop prospect, producers Michael Ellis and Young CEO (a.k.a. Kazey Ellis) of M. K. Ellis Productions /Istmo Inc. signed the 19 year-old in November 2006.AK-Shun pronounced (ac·tion), defined as…“the state or process of doingâ€, well the 21 year-old is definitely living up to his name, with his high energy antics and impact flow AK-Shun moves even the toughest hip-hop crowds. Born in Charleston South Carolina, Brandon Graham became highly inspired by music at the age of 11, at the age of 12, he and his mother moved to Goose Creek, SC (a small town located 5 minutes from North Charleston) to live with his grandmother. Growing up around older cousins involved in music, made AK-Shun evolve his lyrics at a young, to compete with older more experienced MC’s, “growing up there would always be a cipher and since I was the youngest, I felt that I had to put in more effort to stand out and be better… “. In high school AK-Shun was freestyling battling, beating on lunch tables, and writing, he knew he was destined for greatness, “while the teachers were at the front teaching, we would battle one another on a piece of notebook paper, passing it back and forth…†After high school, a brief stint at Trident Technical College and a couple odd jobs, with the strong support from his mother, AK-Shun began taking his music career seriously. Bye word of mouth, he heard that there was a school in Florida specializing in Recording. AK-Shun entered Full Sail Real World Education in 2005 as result he became friends with Young CEO (A.K.A) Kaz Ellis of MKE Entertainment. After graduating in 2006 with an A.S. Degree as a Recording Engineer, AK-Shun reached out to the busy CEO and told him he needed help jump starting his career. Proving his talent, on a one shot un-rehearsed telephone freestyle, he gained the Young CEO’s attention, everyday after that he would write a song and recite it to Kaz Ellis, “man, I must have called that dude for two months straight, I even spit to his answer machine…â€. Finally in early 2007, AK-Shun was the one receiving the call; for a meeting with Kaz and Michael Ellis of MKE Entertainment. He got the nod, and at the age of 20, AK-Shun was signed to MKE, he moved to Charlotte. Since that day, AK-Shun has been making much noise, with the release of his highly anticipated debut album “AK-Shun Musicâ€, working with the industry’s top producers and features from some surprise guests. The rap game has been put on notice that “The Legend Of The South†is here and AK-Shun is his name.
