Big Up yoself and Respeck

About Me

What can I say I'm all over the place. And I think because of that, I never ever stop learning. I'm always looking for a new challenge, and something to master. I love to laugh and enjoy my family and friends. I love to have a good time, not in the Mountain Dew-X Games-crazy white folks high medical bill way, but in the "You get real boring real fast after college" way.

My Interests

REAL hip-hop, and music in general. Music production. My DSM and sports cars. 49ers, tennis. Politics/philosophy/sociology. Martial arts. Computers. Military history... ya know I don't know either, I hate war and nobody's making me join the Army, you gotta love blowing sh*t up. Cooking... Asian and Italian mostly, but I want to learn Mexican cooking. Video Games and more video games. See told ya, all over the place.

I'd like to meet:

People with a sense of humor, where you can make a joke and know you're no better than what you're making fun of. People who learn and let their wisdom shape their individuality, not learn and forget to fit in. Also sports car enthusiasts, 49ers fans, martial artists, and hip-hop heads. My REAL hip-hop heads, none of this Candy Store shiz. Nobody ignorant.

Music:

Aawwwwww diggitydammmm. I listen to almost every genre out there: hip-hop, funk, classical, jazz, electronica. Yeah you heard me, I explain the difference between West Coast and Dirty South and the difference between Baroque and Classical. I produce hip-hop and breakbeat tracks in my spare time, but hopefully that WILL become my day job some day. I believe that hip-hop has shaped some of the best albums ever. Of course it's produced some the crappiest albums ever (Puffy, 50 Cent, Master P, Lil Jon). I can't think of anything better than chillin with the family, eating bbq, lettin the beats bump outta your system. Favorite albums ever: Endtroducing by DJ Shadow, Code 4109 by DJ Krush, Jazzanova's remix collection, Return of the Space Cowboy by Jamiroquai, pretty much anything Herbie Hancock has ever made, the Mic Club by Canibus. If you've never seen Los Amigos Invisibles live, you've never seen a good performance. Recently, I've gotten into Zero 7, a little pretentious, but it takes the edge off. I've actually gotten to play with THE Wynton Marsalis.

Movies:

Heat, Cowboy Bebop, Star Wars (4-6), Rush Hour, Enter the Dragon, The Shogun Ninja (so bad it's good), Rumble in the Bronx, Traffic, Ronin. Nobody ever talks about video games in these things, so I'm gonna blaze the trail: GTA San Andreas, Rainbow Six 3, Ninja Gaiden, Dead To Rights, Metal Gear Solid 2, Splinter Cell

Television:

Family Guy, South Park, the Daily Show, Da Ali G Show.

Books:

Crime and Punishment, Rainbow Six, Vipers in the Storm, Losing the Race, God's Politics, Ghandi's Way, Hip-Hop America.

Jon Stewart my hero

Well perhaps it's the cynic in me, but I'd always thought that Hollywood followed the United Kingdom business SOP where only the most airheaded yes-men got ahead.  Ya know, "I'll give this guy al...

Iran is going down

Well this isn't about me so much as it is a "We're screwed" kind of thing and I want a record of whether or not I was right. So I was thinking this week. We're sending our boys home this summer, reg...

Just in case you wondered where I got "it" from

Well, the engine's been sitting in the garage all week, while I've made only futile efforts to take it apart and find out why it blew up in the first place. So dad comes over to "help" only to reiter...

Well, I've got some beat-block real bad. It's gotten so bad that I can't even hear my own ideas in my head. You just couple that together with a time where I can't seem to get anything going my way,...

Pope-Per-View, from the folks that brought us Guinness

Okay, so John Paul II is no more. We've learned the lessons from 9/11. In a time of moral upheaval and uncertainty, we ain't got no time be thinking about ourselves and what to do in the future. We go...
