And we're here again! Where I live: In a perfect hell...

About Me

The history of my life - so far :
I was born in Ostend, Belgium in 1973 but raised in Nieuwpoort, a fishermen's town along the riverside of the Yzer river. As a little boy I rapidly got the football virus and at 7 I got my first FC Bruges shirt. Since then, I'm wearing their colours with pride.
At the age of 13 I became familiar with music and bands like Tears for Fears and The Cure. Since then the music-virus has never left my body and soul. In fact, the virus spread rapidly and I soon got the knowledge of bands like Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus and especially The Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim. It took no time for me to become a so-called "New Waver"; dressed in black and my personal Robert Smith-like hair-dress.
At school and at home I was always in for a joke and playing tricks on someone. And I still am! In the meantime I got more involved into music and did some journalism. More details about that here below and I got really interested in art and geography, so I went to high school to study tourism. I'm still working in that sector and enjoying it daily.
In 2002 I got married to my lovely wife Nathaly. We are living in a small town near Ostend, along the Belgian coastline. On 07th september 2008 our daughter Helena was born, which is undoubtedly one of the most exciting events in my life!
Music & Art:
I used to do some hobby journalism (my own Empyre magazine and articles in others such as The Sentimentalist - NY,USA) and organise Goth concerts and parties (Crudeness, Morbid Poetry, The House of Usher, Cream VIII, Star Industry, This Vale of Tears, Lizard Smile, etc.) I quit because I don't have enough time anymore and it seems like so-called electro goth (whatever that may be) is more popular in Belgium's gothic society. But I'm happy I met so many people who've become friends. You know who you are...
Here's a list of some of the bands and artists I interviewed:
Love Like Blood

Clan of Xymox

And I attended to lots and lots of concerts. The best ones I ever did were : Ramones (1989), The Sisters of Mercy (1991), The Marionettes (1998), Fields of the Nephilim (2000) and very recently I attended an impressive gig by NFD in Leuven (22.09.2007)
I love art. In particular the art of Dali, Magritte, Juan Munoz, Miro, Kandinsky, Pierre Alechinsky, David, Frank Girard, Josep Bofill, Kamagurka, Marnix Hoys, H.R. Giger, Simon Marsden, Luis Royo, Raveel, William Sweetlove, Corneille, Dirk De Keyzer and many more. Recently I gladly got to know the work of Sarah Yu Zeebroek. I'm the lucky owner of one (so far) of her paintings. I hope to be able to buy some more later.
I love learning all about the world's different cultures and even though I'm a disaster in it, I like to paint myself every now and then. You can see some of my works in my picture gallery.
Football :
And let's not forget I'm a fan of The Pride of Belgium: Club Brugge KV. You can find this season's (2007-2008) results at the heroes section.

Others :
I like animals (at home we have 4 cats, 2 rabbits and some chicken in the garden), reading books on esoteric items and history, comics and watching a good movie. I like hanging out with my friends, helping them wherever I can and making jokes and pulling tricks. Oh, and I love playing EA Sport's FIFA on playstation.
And when I still find some time, I play bass guitar. Haven't played for months though...

My Interests

That was just your life - the lyrics:

I'd like to meet:

Friends from now, then and new ones. People sharing the same interests as me but also people whom have interesting profiles and interesting things to say.

Well, and why not - in no particular order of preference - Juliette Lewis (hot kiss!), Kim Wilde (hmmm), Madonna (phew) and Nena (grrrr)?
And if possible a little chat with Carl McCoy, Andrew Eldritch, Robert Smith, Wayne Hussey and Nick Holmes would be welcome ;o)

If you're a techno, house, electro, ambient, hip hop, rap, r&b, blues, jazz, etc. band/musician or fan, I am most surely not interested. We don't share the same ideas and interests. No use to ask me to add you. You'll immediately be denied...

On May 8th 2008 we lost a wonderful football player in a terrible car crash. Sterke Lé, we will miss you forever. You'll be in my Bruges heart 'til I die!
François Sterchele
I used to be a big fan of the former Belgian goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff. He absolutely was the best goalkeeper ever!
Andrew Eldritch until 1992... from then on he disguised himself as an old sod. And the one and only Carl McCoy. Blessed Be!
I also like former Club Brugge's striker "SUPER BOSKO" Balaban, an arrogant player but so very accurate in front of goal. 58 goals in 115 official matches. Up your ass! Who can do better?
