EASY!!!Or just go to www.gkradio.co.uk to listen LIVEhello everyone, we are paulo and aspey, the hosts of the friday evening show "The Weekender Bender", at the new later time of 6pm - 8pm on GK Radio and with us we bring our unique blend of witty banter and radio finesse fit for any friday night. After introducing ourselves over the last semester, we have produced what many believe to be a highly entertaining and energetic show. Listeners comment that they enjoy our collective sense of humour and banter within our links. We always strive to produce the best show we possibly can and produce innovative ideas for every show. We would also like to add that we have topped the listener figures most weeks and have also managed to maintain a steady stream of listeners every show. The purpose of the show is to put people in a good mood and get them ready for the LRV’s Super Friday by playing feel good party tunes and entertaining with our witty banter and often unusual blend of satire. Term time can be tough, exams to revise for, essays to write, presentations to prepare etc. it can all get too much, we are here to give listeners a break from all of that and show them something that will make them laugh out loud and feel good and get them ready for a great party. During our links, our exchanges come fast and witty, so we need to play music that matches this style. Therefore, the music will be a mix of feel good music, anything goes, and if it’s upbeat and lively then it will be played on the show. With music ranging from modern pop and chart, r n b and student anthems to old school rock, disco, motown and 80’s cheese, we feel that this type of music best suits the personality of the show and achieves the goal of making our listeners happy. In the last few weeks of the show, we began to get much more participation from listeners, usually getting more messages than many of the other shows. We found that our listeners prefer to join in with our banter than merely pick songs from a choice of two. With this in mind we would now like to introduce our fresh, new features designed to allow the listeners to inject some of their own comedy into the show and give us something fresh to react to. FEATURES Here we play two songs over each other, at the same time, and listeners have to name both songs to (hopefully) win tickets into Super Friday. Psych the Campus: - As we are both resident psychologists in training we get listeners to text or email us a problem and we give our advice and a pep talk to help them overcome these problems. Request Roulette: - There are 400 songs on Paulo’s I – pod, listeners text in a number from 1 – 400 and Paulo will play the corresponding song and give them a mention. The Big Ender: - One classic anthem to end the show with. Our main (and only real) aim is to: push the boundaries and bate the Radio Authority - so should well be worth a listen, to see how many fines from OFCOM we can collected like prizes!
