Sounds Like: HIMSELF
Chris Brotherton’s wide array of musical knowledge has earned him the
name “Modern Day Renaissance Man.â€
With a background ranging from
sound tech engineer to bull rider, Chris has lived a full life for someone
that is in his mid 20’s.
After struggling in a local band for over 4
years, Chris made the decision to go on his own path that suits him best.
A real life singer songwriter.
Not just your typical coffee shop
songwriter, but one with unforgiving lyrics that reminds us of harsh
realities that tend to be overlooked in everyday life. Songs soaked
in Everclear and washed down with Mountain Dew or Red Bull is the
feeling you get with Chris’ music.
A master guitarist and anything else
that has strings on it, Chris is one of the most talented musicians in
the four state area.
Webster’s dictionary describes renaissance as rebirth or
born again. It’s a far cry from a dead end job at a radio station in a
bump in the road town.
The Snorty Horse is a symbol of creative
rebellion towards music on a corporate level. Whether Chris likes it or not,
he is a founder in this rebellion and is responsible for creating this wild
bandwagon in which many of us have chosen to join and it was only
appropriate for his latest CD to be recorded live at the Snorty Horse.
It’s
easy to see in his songs which are self guided randomly and hard lived like
the limbs of a hedge tree that not even Chris knows were his talent is
taking him.
My hat's off to his individuality and not listening to anybody
else.
----Steve Greene, Owner, Snorty Horse Saloon
Along with performing and writing his own music, Chris is the drummer for the John D Hale Band. Chris co-authored 3 songs on the John D Hale Band's new record "Lost".
