All the reviews have been great: Creative Loafing wrote nice things twice , there was a flattering writeup in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, and then some uncommonly warm and fuzzy words from Jeff Clark of Stomp and Stammer :
"One of the most appealing female singers to emerge from the Atlanta area in recent years has to be the relatively unheralded Lindsay Rakers. With a sweet, girl-next-door personality and a knack for penning irresistibly catchy tunes, she radiates a warmth and sincerity in her voice that calms your innards and makes you wanna kiss strangers and give to charity. Supported by an accomplished but pleasantly non-flashy band - guitarist Mark Evers, drummer Ron Burns, and bassist Jeff Hall - Rakers dwells in conventional pop-rock with slight country undertones that, interestingly, shine stronger when the band plays live, when they almost come across like a spunkier version of Sugarland. Only they're good! Hunt down their excellent, newly-minted CD, Less Asleep, and see if you concur."-Jeff Clark, Stomp and Stammer, July 2006."Literate and Intriguing Songwriting" "Charming"

Lindsay Rakers has been making up songs and singing them to anyone who'd listen since she was a toddler, but now she's touching deeper subjects than her runaway cat (who never came back). She began fronting bands at the age of 17, when she started playing dive bars with her First Little High School Band in Pittsburgh, PA. Since moving to Atlanta, she has become quite at home with the music scene. She has frequented the open mic circuit as a solo artist, hosted her own open mics, played at Music Midtown and made her way around the original music club circuit. She was a weekly feature on 92.9 FM for much of 2003. The Lindsay Rakers Band is a silver lining on the cloudscape of today's popular music; the much needed backlash to a generation of lip synching and ultra-pasteurized musical packaging. The sound is roots rock ... more soul than straight pop, a little bit alternative, and occasionally alt country. The members of LRB just love to play, and it shows in their energetic live performance.
