About Me

For the love of all things holy . . people, if I do not know you, you are going to have to send me a message indicating exactly WHY I should add you as a friend. I have no desire to have 146,328,873 friends here - I know the majority of the people on my friends list personally, and if I don't, there is a damn fine reason for the add.
About me personally . . hmm . . I’m demanding and have very little patience, yet generous and good humored. I am definitely not high maintenance – actually, I’m so low maintenance that it may be just as annoying.
I’ve worked for the State for the past eight years and don’t see any end in site, however I am hoping to be shot in the line of duty. That carries a nice chunk of change. Barring that, I’ll be working for the rest of my life in such capacity until I retire, and in preparation for that time I’ve begun work on a Veterinary Technician degree. Yes . . I’m in school to learn how to work . . . after I retire from . . working. Bah. On my days off from my full time job, I work at a local dog kennel to begin accumulating experience with canines. Speaking of canines . . .
I currently reside with a two-year old spoiled princess named Tullamore Dew (aka Tulley, Squeak, Princess Pie-Pie), eighty-five pounds worth of loving Canadian Shepherd. I’ll explain that breed later . . .
I've also come to add another member to my pack, a retired Pittsburgh Police Canine Officer named Marc. He's a dollbaby, but ah . . you may want to approach my house VERY slowly. With your hands held high in the air.
I used to be heavily into online role-playing games, MUDs specifically, but I just don't have the time for such anymore. I played Threshold for a while (Nico, Loekiya, Maharyta and Fayhe) and then did some time on Imperian (Raekyi, Ashlynde, and the Goddess Anathema). Threshold is a pretty good RP Mud. Imperian has a sprinkling of good RP, but sadly the realm contains a plethora of twinks who ruin the realm. However Imperian was great because I got to do some creative and in-depth building and indulge in other creative administrative tasks.
What else do you need to know about me? Oh, I love fall because fall means HALLOWEEN! I love everything about the holiday, from the decorating to the festivities to that little chill in the air that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, the chill that may not necessarily be weather related.
And I love to cook. Especially HUGE amounts for parties.
And I'm a proud Browncoat. Shiny.

My Interests

Yes . . it is true. I'm hooked on crack. World of Warcrack, that is. Damn you Nydhu!

You can find me on the Malfurion server with the rest of the Horde, hanging out with my cohorts in the guild 'Misery Loves Kompany'. Damnit. I can't believe I got sucked into this. And Nydhu and Tomako are totally twinking out my Alli toon. Lolz!
I'm the proud Administrator and a Lead Investigator for GPPS - the Greater Pittsburgh Paranormal Society . Come check out our website and see what we are up to next!

My other interests include first and foremost dogs, but we’ve already gone over that. I also enjoy getting my paws dirty – I love to plant things and watch them grow year after year, especially my myriad of herbs or habanero-grade exotic peppers. And I like rocks! Mineral and gem specimens to be exact, but I’ve not added any new ones to my collection in quite some time. I’m also heavily into medieval reenactment (no, I do not attend Renaissance festivals, as those are cheesy and unworthy). You can learn more about it by reading up on the SCA, or the Society for Creative Anachronism . If any of you are familiar with Pennsic in August or the smaller War Practice at the same site in May, you can always catch me there with my camp the Four Winds.
I am also HOOKED on Geocaching!

What else am I interested in? Oh yes . . . how about the FIVE TIME SUPERBOWL CHAMPION PITTSBURGH STEELERS?

I'd like to meet:

I’d like to meet a cohort or two in crime.
Position requires applicant to be in possession of an honorable, reasonably good soul yet one tainted by chronic mischievousness. Requirements include life experiences rich in debauchery, roguery, deceptiveness, and localized insanity. Prior commitments such as domestic responsibilities or daily employment are tolerated, and sufficient time for such activities will be generously allotted as long as applicant is able to remain dedicated to the decadence that the position entails.

Music:

Mmm . . this is entirely too diverse of a subject for me. Let’s just sum it up by saying that Reverend Horton Heat always makes me giggle, while a certain song by Type-O Negative does . . . interesting things to me. You’ll have to pry my Duran Duran CDs from my cold dead fingers, and the beauty of Metallica’s ‘S & M’ nearly brings me to tears. Toby Keith rocks, but not as much as Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.
On the local front, you can find me anxiously waiting for the boys from Rainstation Zero to get their act together and start playing gigs.
In other local music, there are always the highly amusing but pathetically sad antics and revolving door hijacks of the John and Yoko Show!
Reality check! What has to transpire before you finally have to ask yourself: Gee, could I be the problem?

Movies:

My criterion for watching a movie is quite simple. It must contain one if not more of the following: vampire, alien, witch, undead, magical or mythological creature, blood, violence, gore, demonic spirit, possessive spirit, malicious spirit, ghost of any type, time travel, evil clowns, spaceships, murder, alternate worlds, serial killers, afterlife, psychics, ESP, genetic mutation, cults . . . I think you get the picture. Let me firmly state that I do NOT do click-flicks. I can occasionally be coerced into a comedy, and can easily quote multiple lines from classics such as ‘Clockwork Orange’, ‘Ferris Bueller’, ‘What About Bob’, ‘Harold and Kumar’, ‘Waiting’, ‘Shaun of the Dead’, ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’, ‘Better Off Dead’ and of course 'Army of Darkness'. If absolutely forced to pick three and only three movies, I would have to take ‘House of 1000 Corpses’, ‘Serenity’ and ‘LOTR: ROTK’. And ‘Merlin’. And ‘The Lost Boys’. Damn, can’t forget ‘Armageddon’.
What 'House of 1000 Corpses' character are you?
Baby
This sexy blonde is just like her mother, Mother Firefly. She is cute, funny, and evil. She seems to be "murder buddies" with Otis. Oh and, her favorite movie star isn't Marilyn Monroe.

Television:

Currently you can find me watching (when I do get a little time) virtually anything on SciFi and/or the Science Channel. I specifically tune into LOST, Heroes and yes, Survivor. And I have to admit not just because I have money riding on it. In the past I’ve been a huge fan of the ‘Rock Star INXS’ and ‘Rock Star Supernova’ shows. I also enjoy the following television shows via DVD: Firefly, Millennium, Dead Like Me, The Pretender and of course ‘The X-Files’.

Books:

I have loved everything ever written by Stephen King, Anne Rice, J.R.R. Tolkien, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz, and Neil Gaimen. Additionally, I have been enthralled and scandalously affected by Anne Bishop’s ‘Black Jewels Trilogy’. I also love the Harry Potter series. My individual favorites include Stephen King’s ‘The Talisman’, ‘It’ and ‘The Stand’, Clive Barker’s ‘Weaveworld’, Dean Koontz’s ‘Phantoms’ and ‘Odd Thomas’, Neil Gaimen’s ‘Neverwhere’, Gaimmen/Pratchett’s ‘Good Omens’, Ray Bradbury’s ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ – I could go on forever.

Heroes:

I consider any man or woman who has served in the military be it past or present to be the true heroes. I also give a respectful nod to firefighters and law enforcement personnel, those who needlessly put their lives on the lines for the worthless cesspool that is humanity.
