Movies, music, sewing, swing dancing salsa dancing, just...dancing, classic cars, motorcycles, spending way too much time here on myspace, bartending, photography, make-up, acting, writing, playing dress up, haunting, video games, special f/x makeup, being addicted to amazon and ebay and just generally being a goofball
I'd like to meet:
I don't really know. Just...people. People I can talk to about random things. People with proper respect for the English language. Intellectual people. Silly people. People that have something to say and aren't afraid to say it. People that are pursing their dreams. Someone that will take me to sushi every day. People that aren't afraid to try new things. People that set apart. People that are capable of thinking for themselves. People that actually want to add me on their friends list because they want to be my friend, not because they want to win some sort of imaginary myspace popularity contest. People that can keep my attention. People that make me laugh. Someone that will laugh at my bad jokes. Someone that will laugh at my REEEEEALLY bad jokes. Just...people.Just as a side note, please do not try to add me without talking to me first. I'd like to know that we actually have something in common and that you actually want to talk to me and not just have another pretty face (haha...joke) on your friends list.
Music:
Psychobilly & rockabilly mostly. But my music tastes are quite eclectic. I like classic rock, swing, jazz, ska, 80's new wave, industrial, big band, some (mostly older) country (like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline), oldies, doo-wop, blues, buttrock..the list goes on and on. I'm very open to trying new things and music is no exception.
Movies:
When it comes to movies my motto is: Brains and guts drive me NUTS. Blood and gore, give me MORE!!!! So basically I like really gory stuff. ANYTHING with zombies, classic horror flicks, b-movies, classic films, cult classics, foriegn films....Here is just a few of my faves:Rocky horror picture show, hedwig and the angry inch, party monster, nightmare before Christmas, corpse bride, princess bride, Elvira mistress of the dark, Elvira's haunted hills, ANYTHING with Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Mae West, or Bette Davis, Happiness of the Katakuris, Suicide club, battle royale, chicago, moulan rouge, house of 1,000 corpses, the Evil dead, army of darkness, potc, she done him wrong, sextette, hairspray, jezebel, dark victory, theatre of blood, house of wax (original), willy wonka and the chocolate factory, land of the dead, night of the living dead, whats eating gilbert grape...just to name a few...I tend to prefer independent films to huge "blockbuster hits." That probably makes me sound really pretentious, but allow me to explain before you make that judgement. I just tend to think that even when a movie doesn't have a multi-million dollar budget and they can STILL get the kind of reaction they are looking for...well it takes a lot talent. Also, since I'm into acting, make up and most recently screen writing, it's neat for me to see what other people have come up with. It's inspiring to say the least. Plus I think that when movies have really big budgets, amazing actors etc., well, they don't put as much into the actual story as they could. It pains me to see amazing ideas that could have been handled SO much better be butchered up to fit in the perfect mold that makes it "marketable."
Television:
Scrubs, My name is Ear, the office, the Simpsons, family guy
Books:
Disco Bloodbath, Americain Psycho, Woman Warrior, Hero with 1,000 faces, Search for signs of intellengent life in the universe, um...so many more but I am drawing a blank at the moment...
Heroes:
Bodie is my number one hero for giving me strength when I need(ed) it the most. Without him, I may have never been able to accomplish the second most important descion of my life. Having him was the first. I guess that means that I'm my own hero too, that I was able to do what had to be done to get us out of the terrible situation we were both in. I know, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be alive to type this today.Ahem...enough heart wrench for now.Other heros: Marilyn Monroe for providing me with inspiration to follow my dreams. Countless other actors and filmmakers that have been an inspiration to me. Many friends that I have had through my life that have given me support and strength when I couldn't find it elsewhere. Um...wonder Woman and Sheerah...just because they rock. And um...I dunno...just anyone who has the will and determination to make changes for a better future.
