I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm putting this back because I feel it expresses the true me. And If I relate better to a city than anything else, I'm sure there are psychologists who would have me as a case study. My favorite interest: I love London. God, I love London. I want London to knock me down and put it's mouth on me. I want to marry London and have a million babies. Then, I want to cheat on London with a younger/warmer city, but just for the winter when it's too cold. I want London to take me back, but not without a fight and I'll buy Juicy Tubes from Selfridges and pastries from the food halls at Harrods to make it up to London. I want to complain to London about the quality of their sushi (Frozen tempura in bag, really!). Instead, we'll go to Brick Lane (changed this for anyone who's interested) together for Curry (Indian food, My Compatriots). After that, London will let David and me sing karaoke in the Royal Albert Hall, because, after all, it is London. I want London to put me on the cover of OK! and Hello every week, along with Posh and Katie Price. I want London to put me in the Big Brother house for one season and then a recurring guest spot on some breakfast show (morning show, brothers). I want London to supply me with endless Boost Bars and Wagamama. I WANT LONDON TO GIVE ME RYANAIR! (I do believe it's an Irish company, but it doesn't detract from my point) I want to grow old with London and get the very necessary plastic surgery we require. I want to die in London, be ground up and put in someone's Mandarin Duck Wrap at Pret-a-Manger. This was all ironic, in case you didn't get it. Actually it wasn't, just the bit about the breakfast shows. The rest stands. But maybe I wouldn't love to be put in someone's wrap. That would be poor hygiene.

My Interests

Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, and of course, Philosophy. I'm a slave. Literature, Music and Vinolini. And sleep. I would also like to meet a nice dinner, a really nice car and a never ending expense account.

I'd like to meet:

Steve Jones. And really good wine, I've never been there, I really haven't.

Music:

The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, David Bowie, Jeff Buckley, Death Cab For Cutie, Elliot Smith, Pulp, Otis Redding, Travis, Depeche Mode, Prince, U2, Ella Fitzgerald, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, David Gray, Ben Folds...Oh My God, someone should stop me. It could go on endlessly. That sounds pretentious. But you should listen to Johnny Cash's "Cry, Cry, Cry,".

Movies:

Citizen Kane, Grand Illusion, Gone with the Wind, Moulin Rouge.

Television:

Six feet Under, The Sopranos, The Office, Extras, Little Britain, Lost.

Books:

For now, War and Peace. I will make it through this book.

Heroes:

C'mon Aristotle. I've always loved you.

My Blog

Back by overwhelming public demand

I have always wanted to say that. I know I have not been the best keeper of this but you try doing this when no one is paying you. I arrived in London last week. Strange to be there without David. Rat...

Musings of an American "Properly" Lost in Geneva

1. People at the Four Seasons are mean: Had temptation to gut-punch them. 2. Woman on Pont du Mont Blanc has sharp fingers: I almost ran into her and she pushed me with her fingers, not palm. Very sha...

Vacation in Canadia

Beck and Cros thought I should start a blog (overused word) while I am on vacation in the great big world. Mind you, this is not for my own self aggrandisement, but merely for your edification. So her...
